Coleman Court Summer Apartments

We have booked this „hotel“ for our overnight stay in Cork through ***********. We we suggested the two bedroom apartment as we have two kids. Upon arrival we saw that the beds are really too small to have for of us! The beds are max 1.2 xs 1.9. We asked for help and we were told that 1. These are normal beds in Ireland because people are smaller here (we have not experienced that in any other hotel in Ireland) 2. That there are students apartments and therefore also smaller 3. she couldn’t do anything without her manager and the manager was off for the day. When I asked if she could call the answer was „no“. Whats the point of advertising a 24h reception if bo support can be given?!?! I then researched again and its very misleading what this hotel does. The hotel advertises in two different pages: https://www.mezzino.com/location/cork/ and https://www.colemancourt.ie/. On one they say they provide luxury apartments as alternative to a hotel and on the other its a student advertisement…. On the page I booked there was no mentioning of students apartments nor a reference to it. I wouldn’t recommend this place and i think its fraudulent to advertise the same building with different criteria

Beware of this place while traveling through Ireland with your family. We did so, and due to an illness in the family, we were not able to make our booking. They wouldn’t answer their phones in on the third day after our booking when we couldn’t make it. They finally called back and said tough break. I understand policies are in place for a reason. But there is some circumstances that cannot be avoided.

We stayed at Coleman Court with our adult children on a family vacation so this was an affordable option to get multiple rooms. The building is new, our rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and there was air conditioning, which a lot of places don't have. The car park beside the hotel is also free overnight and, although it fills up fast, there was only one night (of five) we weren't able to park for free. The accommodations are basic (sheets and towels are somewhat thin but to be expected for student housing) but having a kitchen and laundry was really convenient and the location was great. As long as you know what to expect, it is a great option.
