Corbridge - what a great place to spend a day - and The Golden Lion - what a great find for lunch! Many choices here but we read the plaque outside (built from historic stone) and dropped in for a drink which led to an excellent lunch. Firstly a great wine choice and we went for a provencal Rose (well, despite it being October the sun was glaring down on us)! We then sampled the prawn and crayfish open sandwich (very fresh and well presented and my wife went for the beef sandwich, dijon mustard and a side of onion rings…. The beef was piled up high and the onion rings would have fed an army! Very efficient and friendly staff and a great atmosphere - thanks to the staff for a great lunch!

cosy warm pub, excellent food and cheerful, helpful staff. Lovely smell of wood smoke from the wood burners too, to add to the cosy atmos. Interior is neat and clean with plenty of room between tables, the toilets were clean and tidy too. Very pleasant visit.

Myself and the wife had Sunday lunch and the overall experience was very good. We started with the garlic mushrooms and the parfait followed by the beef and the vegetarian option. All dishes were excellent. This added together with the good service - very pleasant and not too intrusive added to the overall experience. Am sure we’ll return.

From walking in on our first night in corbridge was welcomed by lovely polite staff the pub really nice and clean and nice decor came in a couple more times then decided to book a table for our last night in corbridge glad we did food was excellent staff excellent so when where back at Easter will definitely book a table

We booked a table for lunch with friends after a post Christmas Walk up to Aydon Castle. We walked more quickly than we thought, and rang the Golden Lion to ask if it was possible to arrive earlier...nothing was a problem. Lovely atmosphere. All staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our 'gluten free' friend was well looked after (including a gluten free mince pie with her mulled vine). Food was delicious. Would highly recommend.

As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed and made to feel at home. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean and we had a lovely stay. The pub has a lovley atmosphere and if we weren't off to a wedding I could have gladly sat there all day. I'd certainly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Stayed just the one night and for dinner. The landlord and wider staff / family were most hospitable. The room was bright and roomy with a comfortable bed and large fluffy towel. The shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast was tasty and flavours of the north , curly sausage , black pudding, the works. Dinner was so nice the beef mash and gravy so good. I went for cray fish cocktail which again was well presented and seasoned well. I’ll definitely be staying again and for our guys on business in the area they will be staying there every time.

What can i say ! We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Golden Lion. As soon as we walked through the door , we felt welcomed. The food was brilliant , rooms clean and nothing was too much trouble. The landlord has a brilliant sense of humour. We only stayed for two nights but felt like part of the family when we left. We will definitely return. Corbridge is a lovely place to stay .

The Golden Lion is a friendly pub restaurant in the heart of the village. It has a good selection of beers and a great selection of food. Service, cleanliness, and the quality of the food were all excellent. The pub offers great value for money all round.
