Reflections Copeton Waters - Holiday Park

Caravan sites are nothing like how they are described on their website. We arrived to find the site had no direct street front. We had provided the 9m length when booking however would need to back van over rocky ground into a small site with trees leaving no room to pull-out awning. Site was encircled by other vans so no privacy at all. After a three hour drive to get there we ended up turning around and leaving. Manager acknowledged their site maps are not accurate but provided no options for another site nor refund even though it was obvious we would not fit on site. Do not recommend this site at all.

I booked my 5 night accommodation in September for the Christmas break,and sadly had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. I at no time over the phone when booking was I informed I’d lose my deposit if I cancelled. I gave them 86 days notice and had no idea I’d lose my money. I think they presumed I’d read the webpage but I didn’t. Not happy at all as it wasn’t a small amount but several hundred dollars.

Loved our stay in our home amongst the gum trees last night. Decided to have a quick getaway not too far from home and found a little piece of paradise! Travelling in our motorhome we booked a powered site 3km from the main office on Site 41 which was so tranquil with views of Copeton Dam. Beautifully quiet and serene location and woke up to lots of wildlife outside our door. Clean amenities and staff in the office were lovely. Will definitely stay again….regularly.

Will never return! Firstly staff are not friendly none even smiled, we had a problem with our caravan and the girl had no sympathy offering us a unpowered site ( we were on a powered site and our caravan had issues) or a cabin for a night four days into the future when it was 30+ degrees, the bouncing pillow was deflated, the grass on the golf course wasn’t cut, it took forever to be served in the reception and kiosk, you don’t get refunded the tokens you don’t use for the washing and drying. It ruined our Christmas break, I have emailed Copeton and days later still not received a reply or our money back. Will not be back and will not refer very disappointed.

Copeton Waters is my own slice of paradise 40 kilometers from Inverell. It is a huge place we drive 3 kilometers from reception to our campsite. On a rise overlooking the lake and midway between the lake and the scrupulously clean amenities we park the van. The view is magnificent and we are at least 100 meters from any of the 4 other caravans here at the moment. The showers are hot and the pressure is good. The laundry takes tokens you get from reception which also sells timber for your fire pit. There is a golf course for Ray, and bring wild bird seed as you will enjoy feeding the birds. There are tennis courts and walking tracks. Keith did a 9 kilometer hike while he was here. The lake is well stocked with fish. Ray and Keith both caught fish although we took pity on them and threw them back to grow bigger than 3 inches. One warning - do not leave your caravan door open as the blue faced fig birds will go inside looking for a feed. If you feel the need for a breather and a break from crowded caravan parks. How’s the serenity

Setup overnight on a grassed waterfront position: unpowered (by choice). Very few around this time of year, mid-week so had place much to ourselves. Wonderful across water views: good camp kitchen and amenities. Limited mobile coverage. A good overnight stay.
