Felix Hotels - Hotel la Coluccia

I am going to start this review by saying this is NOT a 5 star hotel. Maybe once upon a time it may have been but from my experience it definitely is not now. It is comfortably a 4. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, remote 4 star hotel this is for you. We had a lovely 2 night stay here but I wouldn't return as it did not offer the 5 star luxury service it promises. Good points- The welcome drink on arrival whilst we waited to check in was lovely down by the sea. The room was the best family room we have stayed in as it offered a king size bed, 2 singles and 2 bathrooms which was great for a family of 3 girls. It was also very clean. Most of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The beach bags for use was a lovely touch. The childrens menu in the restaurant was great for our little ones, especially our youngest who has a milk allergy. The allergens were clearly shown. Bad points- The hotel is very run down in parts, especially the pool area. There is no food or drink service around the pool. There is no valet to greet you when you arrive and you can't get your car close to the hotel so it's confusing as to where to park when you first arrive. The lifeguard was never around the pool and preferred walking around talking on his mobile. There is no atmosphere in the hotel, with no music playing. The evening drinks in the lobby before dinner felt very dull. There is a grand piano in the bar area but no signs of any use. The breakfast buffet was very basic continental. Only 3 pots of warm food, sausages, scrambled eggs and green beans or peas. Other eggs or warm food options were not offered. There was no oranges dor orange juice on our final day they had run out. At dinner my husband was reviewing the wine menu, it was removed and given to another couple and not given back. The Pool is not heated and was very cold. Towards the afternoon the pool is in the shade so you'd expect it to be heated a little. There were not enough sun beds, my husband had to sit at a table. No bed was offered by the staff. This hotel is not set up for kids, there isn't much to keep them entertained and the quiet atmosphere around the pool did not allow for them to play or have any fun. The hotel is mainly occupied by older couples and this is definitely the vibe it was giving off.

Fantastic hotel overlooking Spiagga Della Conca Verde and the La Maddalena islands. Amazing rooms, amazing staff, amazing breakfast on the deck overlooking the pool and beach. They have there own umbrellas and chairs by the beach. There’s also a snack bar and boat hire place on the beach. Can’t rate this hotel highly enough. We can’t wait to come back.

If you are into the glittering fancy five star accommodation - this might not be a place for you. It’s a “ coming home” hotel , where you feel the warmth, spontaneity and taste of Italian philosophy “ godere la vita”. As a day’s highlight comes the dinner. My daughter described it well saying that the meals could match or surpass any London fancy Italian restaurant. It is simply delicious!

We stayed in La Coluccia for one week this summer. Let's start on a positive note and mention hotel's good points. Firstly, beautiful location, if you look for a quiet area this quiet bay is perfect. Bare in mind that the beach is public. The housekeeping service was very efficient and some of the reception staff were very helpful and presented a good command of English. There was also a very friendly girl at the pool service. Unfortunately, there are many negatives. Starting with the cleanliness... the pool area is simply dirty, the jacuzzi was cleaned after our complaint. You would expect 5 star hotel to have their cleanliness on spot. The walls of the pool were dirty, the pool floor needs an urgent maintance, we witnessed one of the guests hurting her foot badly on a broken board. When we brought a dirty jacuzzi to the reception employee's attention...we heard that it was due to people using it. Well it is due to the staff to clean it as often as needed. The pool boy/lifeguard spent most of the days on his mobile, not interested in his job whatsoever. Here I need to mention never seen before unprofessional behaviour of the hotel management. During one of the afternoons we witnessed the hotel management staff telling the pool boy off in front of all guests. Besides the point that the guy deserved some criticism, it should have been done behind the scenes. The room advertised as a see view deluxe room is a very standard size room with a sea view covered by bushes. The food was a big disappointment, we ate mostly in the nearest town. It is a pity to see a hotel with a great potential, not to receive a deserved attention. Unfortunately, from previous reviews hotel's replies, it seems like looking for excuses is tge way tge reviews are approached. I reckon it would be good for the hotel management to be open to a constructive criticism. The management should look upon themselves and make some urgent changes. Attention to detail must be applied if the hotel wants to claim its 5 stars...

Our family with two small kids were very warmly welcomed and well taken care of throughtout our 4 day stay. Great pool area and large sunbeds available close to the nice beach. Wonderful food - for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Attentive, helpful and great staff!

I was shocked this hotel claims to be 5-star. Our stay was an absolute disaster from start to finish, with serious health and safety concerns throughout. Upon arrival, we were given the wrong bed setup, ruining our first night after long travels. My pregnant wife couldn't sleep at all. The room itself was appalling - dirty sheets, a filthy mattress, and AC filters caked in grime. The bathroom fan was poorly installed and covered in dust, providing no ventilation. Health hazards were everywhere. The pool was visibly dirty and unusable. My wife nearly fell from a broken sunbed missing screws. The restaurant's AC units were filthy, and breakfast options were sparse and poorly managed. Basic amenities failed constantly. The room phone didn't work, and Wi-Fi was painfully slow and unreliable when it worked at all (about half the time). Beach service was non-existent for 5 out of 6 days. Staff seemed oblivious to proper hygiene, placing "clean" pillows on our luggage before returning them to the bed. When we complained about cleanliness, they used bleach to clean despite being warned about my wife's pregnancy. This hotel is a health hazard masquerading as a luxury resort. The pristine location is wasted on a property that fails at every level of service, cleanliness, and safety. Management needs to address these serious issues immediately. I cannot recommend anyone stay here until drastic improvements are made. Save yourself the frustration and potential health risks - book elsewhere.
