Mersea Island Holiday Park

Filthy caravan that had stains over sofas and chairs and carpets smelt of urine in hallway . I have booked twice a year for years , now I won’t bother , made me feel really depressed , the prices seem to go up every year and they don’t update the caravans.

We had a great time at Mersea Island the weather was perfect and the staff were great if problems were raised! However problems occured more often than not with either no toilet roll in the toilets, no hand towels or even soap.... Dirty sinks dirty toilets and dirty showers (more rugular cleaning nessasary? ) and using a facility that has been pulled from sandy Balls that's already falling apart with cubicles falling off the wall and a gents toilet not situed securely on the floor that it wobbles as you sit on it. In the Ladies there was 1 shower that you could not lock because the door had fallen (same as the gents believe it or not) and 1 toilet the same. cold showers on 1 occasion but was reported on the app, however I reported issues many of times on the app which I should not have to do being on holiday if they had a regular maintenance, however this was probably due to the people using them! Out of date posters in the toilets from last month realy says a bit.. The staff in them self are great can I reiterate, however away resorts really need to answer to this. My concerns and me personally

Had a lovely few days staying in one of the luxury caravans. Very well equipped with utensils & crockery. Good size TV, and heating worked very well as it was quite cold during our stay. The site is by the sea and we went for long walks along the shore, very bracing!! Drove to West Mersea and caught the bus from there into Colchester which was much easier than having to find & pay parking. The staff on arrival were extremely helpful in finding an upgrade for us into a luxury caravan from a superior which gave us a bit more space. We are looking forward to returning in a couple of months for a weeks R&R.

Great place to stay very relaxing and plenty to do in the local area plenty of restaurants & pubs caravan was spotless and everything we needed lovely deck area to relax on , the beer in the muddy duck was very good and staff friendly and helpful

Lovely clean caravan prepared by Amy, Maisie and Michele we couldn't fault the cleanliness. Hot tub was serviced daily by the friendly maintenance staff, a great place to celebrate a birthday with friends and family. Staff in site very friendly.

Booked here to stay in our tent! Firstly I would like to say how fabulous all the staff were! We got a bit outrageous on our first night and staff were so helpful (sorry about that one) there is a great community spirit. (We lost both our phones and bank cards) these were found at reception in the morning. People just looking out for each other and saying hi! Kids all playing football together, people helpful to others with tent.. lovely access to beach which is great for a morning stroll and a fabulous ww2 trail when you get to the end! Lovely little shop on sight. Swimming pool (needs to be pre booked) The showers were clean and toilets always had soap and toilet paper.. the only small fix I would say is the hand towels need to be topped up and there is a door that needs to be fixed in the ladies.. men’s could do with a clean a bit more often! The caravans looked lovely although I cannot comment as we did not stay in one but they looked great with terraces and chairs! Perfect for an al fresco dinner! One last fix would be to extend the muddy duck menu however I understand there may be limited kitchen space! We are already thinking about our next stay.. would love to try a caravan! We will see if our travels take us back that way or if we explore another part of the uk! Thanks for the stay!
