Travelodge Cockermouth

The travelodge is good value for money. The staff are very friendly and professional. The breakfast is excellent. The hotel is in a good location for visiting Cockermouth and is a 20 minute walk from the centre. The only downside is it is dated and could do with refurbishment as the room was tired.

Straightforward, quiet and clean as always but WiFi issues frustrating. Codes did not work on either device, despite having stayed here multiple times before and having had no issues. Hotel itself in lovely spot; quiet and clean with great access to Lakes and west Cumbria

We had a pleasant night’s sleep but unfortunately the lack of cleanliness really lets this hotel down. We were staying in a family room with two small children and the room was dirty. The floor had not been hoovered, there were squished grapes underneath the desk and the walls were filthy. The kettle was dirty on the outside and leaked from the bottom once filled. The second pull out bed in the room was positioned underneath the TV, next to a radiator and the pillow was rested against the bottle opener which was just not safe. The hotel was quiet inside and outside despite being fully booked. The hotel is within walking distance of a Starbucks, Asda, Greggs, and Subway which was really useful but the lack of cleanliness really brings this hotel down. For that reason, we will not be staying at this hotel again and we will not recommend this hotel to anyone that we know. There is a Premier Inn that is just down the road from this hotel that is much nicer to stay in and is very clean. We would definitely recommend that hotel over this one.

Stopped overnight here on route to Scotland. The room was basic, but clean. It was spacious with a comfortable bed. The location was good with some nice walks around. There was food an available on site. We chose to walk to a nearby pub for our evening meal but had breakfast in the hotel, which was very nice. We found the staff friendly and accommodating. The lady serving breakfast made sure our bacon and sausages were cooked to our liking!

The hotel is well situated and often offers reasonable prices, compared to others in the locale. However, based on my visit, I cannot recommend it, the room was grimy, as was the kettle and the back of the TV was extremely dusty. The worst aspect was that neither soap dispenser worked and this was not fixed after I reported it.

We had a lovely stay at this travelodge. We would stay there again. It was clean, staff were pleasant. Breakfast was good. What more do you need on a break!
