The econoldge of Clarksville, Tennessee was an abomination. We arrived late after a long road trip which is why we stayed, the alternative would have been to sleep in the car. Upon further thought that may have been a better choice!. There was mold everywhere! The towels had makeup (foundation) on them. The pullout couch had stains and smelled like urine. I wouldn't let my dog sleep on it even with her blankets! I am an asthmatic and had to do a breathing treatment and use my inhaler after saturating the room with lysol spray. The bed pillows were a joke, more like couch accent pillows in pillowcases. During the night my husband and I continued to end up in the center of the bed, we kept having to struggle to the edge. Picture a taco and there you have it! I can't even begin to describe the crud in the coffee maker or in the bathtub. Needless to say, after a ten hour drive and for the duration of our stay not able to take a shower was awful. I guess our first red flag was the police patrolling the parking lot? I tried to get a reservation at one of the two other hotels sharing the parking other the next morning, but they had no vacancies. We stayed out of the room all day and literally only came back to sleep. We shortened our stay and checked out on Monday when my daughter went to her apt complex and asked if she could check in a day earlier. They were so accommodating and although we had to sleep on the floor as her furniture wasn't arriving until Tuesday, it was more comfortable than our hotel stay. I didn't have breathing problems. Do better Choice hotels!. Even as a pet friendly hotel, this was horrible! Corporate needs to do an inspection and hold the management accountable as they are damaging your brand. We have always had pleasant stays at Choice hotels with our pet, so I know this isn't the norm.
