Gregans Castle Hotel

We loved our 4-night stay at Gregan’s! The very pretty gardens, our first impression of the property, offer a seamless experience of the surrounding Burren and the nearby coast. This was continued in our room, Martello. We also enjoyed visiting the kitchen gardens and the idea of hosting lunches there is very appealing! The interiors at the hotel are superb, we loved the mix of homely comfort with hotel elegance and the mix of older furnishings with updated touches. The bathroom in Martello is excellent and stylish but a screen for the shower would be helpful. In July we did find the 3 blankets on the bed far too warm (we did request a reduction). Use of a tea tray (with a less sophisticated kettle) without a request would be nice. Food in the dining-room on two evenings was superb, really showcasing Irish ingredients and some very skilful preparation. Service from start to finish during our stay was excellent, very warm and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed using the sheet of local recommendations. It really helped us discover the very rich culture and heritage of the local area and provided us with a few joyous days. We would add a visit to the beautiful peninsula where the Martello Tower is located. It was magical in the later afternoon. All in all, a wonderful property that was a highlight of our Irish holiday.

Horrible experience. I would strongly avoid this property. They are only focused on taking your money and have zero sense of customer service.

Great, remote location. Private, incredibly luxurious. And the hotel’s kitty stayed with us. Need I say more? But honestly, the food, the staff, and the amazing bar had luxurious touches all throughout.
