Premier Inn Clacton-On-Sea (Seafront)

Not a very Premier PLUS stay, disappointed overall.... Four visits to reception to get a Key Card to work. WiFi Not intuitive at all - & No instructions supplied ＞ another visit to reception! WiFi very slow even though "Ultimate WiFi" ( Free wifi was same speed ) Problems with heating to room ＞ requiring yet ANOTHER visit to reception. Room overall, clean ..... but carpet not really clean. No hand holds in bath / shower .... at ALL ????? Meal & breakfast OK..... but no-one, not even your own staff can understand how partial bookings work!

Sat 23-Nov to Sat 30-Nov Very disappointed. Date of stay: Sat 23-Nov-2024 to 30-Nov-2024 Bad: WiFi almost unusable, even when I paid an extra £5 a day for the advanced WiFI option. No mobile signal on my two mobile phones on the Vodafone and EE mobile networks. TV useless, no Netflix or Amazon Prime available. I have a mild disability and had great difficulty having a shower because I had to step over the wall of the bath. No hand rails to cling on to on. Heating in the room failed and over heated the room to such an extent that I was sweating profusely (in November!). However, the staff did fix the problem within an hour. When you include the £5 a day for the useless WiFi and £7 a day for car parking, and £11 a day for breakfast, the expense overall was far too high. Good: Good sea view from the bedroom. Close to town centre. Breakfast: all you can eat and nicely cooked, a bit pricy though. Staff very helpful. Bed and pillows very comfortable.

Absolute dump ! Room in a terrible state and filthy. Couldn’t be moved rooms as none available. Booked this for my parents 56th wedding anniversary and if it wasn’t for the fact they’re elderly and had just driven two hours to get there, they wouldn’t have stayed.

My wife and I decided to stay at the premier inn because it offered parking and a central location , we were very impressed with the hotel ,the room was comfortable and although we didn’t make us of the dining room,it was very busy for breakfast evening meals

Very disappointing - Room keys didn't work, heating made such a noise it kept me awake. Loo roll holder loose and dangerous, tap in sink didn't work properly. Reported it but nothing was done. Also the whole place was shabby and nothing really worked (WiFi awful)

Lots of problems and staff did not seem interested in offering any resolution. We booked a premium plus room, specifically because we needed a fridge, however when we arrived the fridge was broken and we asked for it to be replaced and we were told all the fridges in the hotel were broken also, which we did not believe. Also, my intention was to work whilst I was away, again, I intended to use the premium WiFi, which we paid for as part of our room, but this service was down and again, staff said, sorry - nothing we can do. Really poor experience and total waste of money paying for premium plus room at this hotel
