Loved this place! Was above expectations for the region we were in and so happy we chose to stay at the sanctuary. The hosts and team were fabulous, helpful and lovely. The park itself is gorgeous and a true little experience to be a part of something more than just accommodation. The team helped us organize local tours. What was so lovely was the meals times and a**osphere of casualness that the place provides. If you are within the Huasteca Potosina region I would highly recommend staying here.

This is such a wonderful place to stay in the Huasteca Potosina. The cabins are very nice and clean. The hosts, Martha and Eduardo, and all the staff were so kind and helpful. But most important, the work they do to help animals is extraordinary!

Excellent stay, a lot of activities to do related outdoors activities and related to environmental and wildlife education, food is excellent and staff is amazing! The experience was very different to what I expected in a very positive way and food is just incredible, I'm definitely looking forward to going back staying for a longer period of time.

This was my second time staying at Selva Teenek. The place is just magical. I love it. The food is exceptional. Much better than the food we find elsewhere in la Huasteca and on the tours in fact. The rooms are so comfortable and the style is very Jurassic Park. You really feel like you're on an adventure. We were attended by Lalo this time and he was super attentive and kind. And of course, the animal-focused mission is so great.

It was an awsome experience. We stayed in a cabin. The air conditioning worked well. There was hot water. The beds were comfy, pillows soft, food delicious (I am veggetarian and they preared meals specially for me). Glamping at its best. The host was very helpful. I love that they are educating people about preserving wildlife, as well as caring for animals that often can not return to the wild. The animals are well cared for and have nice enclosures that are usually large. If you go out with a guide for the night feeding you have the best chance of seeing big cats. The other activities we did in the area were incredible as well.

The concept is very well intense and has a great cause. However, the service itself and the personnel are not well equipped to service what they are charging. I do agree with other reviews that it is overpriced for what is being received. The room had a few glitches and they were attended to. However, after we had asked to be moved from rooms because the AC could not be controles that even with the blankets we couldn’t stay warm. We waited until the next day in order to give them time to fix it. We went on a tour all day and came back at 8 pm and it still wasn’t fixed. The. The new room #5 was much nicer and roomier, yet the water heater wasn’t working at all. The food was mediocre and our anfitrión was learning which we all understand everyone has to start somewhere, I don’t think she was given the proper guidance on how to manage and service properly. For us paying whole price we would’ve appreciated the same service as our money. The tours which are affiliated with this hotel were amazing. El concepto es muy interesante y tiene una gran causa. Sin embargo, el servicio en sí y el personal no están bien equipados para atender lo que están cobrando. Estoy de acuerdo con otras críticas en que es demasiado caro para lo que se está recibiendo. La habitación tenía algunos problemas técnicos y fueron atendidos. Sin embargo, después de que pidiéramos que nos mudaran de las habitaciones porque el aire acondicionado no podía ser controles, incluso con las mantas no podíamos mantenernos calientes. Esperamos hasta el día siguiente para darles tiempo de arreglarlo. Fuimos de gira todo el día y volvimos a las 8 p.m. y todavía no estaba arreglado. En la nueva habitación #5 era mucho más bonita y espaciosa, sin embargo, el calentador de agua no funcionaba en absoluto. La comida era mediocre y nuestro anfitrión estaba aprendiendo que todos entendemos que todo el mundo tiene que empezar en alguna parte, no creo que se le haya dado la orientación adecuada sobre cómo gestionar y dar el servicio adecuado. Para nosotros, pagando el precio completo, habríamos apreciado el mismo servicio que nuestro dinero. Los recorridos que están afiliados a este hotel fueron increíbles.

Overpriced for what you get. The staff were mostly trainees and didn’t really have service etiquette and communication was a problem. We had a terrible time with the food even though they did a good job in accommodating for a special diet in our group. Even getting hot water in our shower was never solved. We understand that having trainees is more cost efficient for them, but they should definitely provide better support for the staff so the guest get at least decent service during their stay.

Outstanding 5 day stay! Very pleasant and attentive staff. An easy 5 minute drive to the gorgeous Micos waterfalls which we visited twice. They included breakfast and dinner in our stay which made it very convenient. We really did not need to bring food that needs to be refrigerated because the cabana does not have a kitchen or refrigerator. The staff was very hospitable and kept our food in the main dining area refrigerator. The next time we return we will only bring non perishable snacks. You will find abundant freshly cooked food in any of the waterfalls that you visit in the region. The AC worked excellent in the heat. Room service did a fantastic job in keeping our cabana clean and fresh. Access to all the waterfalls is convenient from 5 minutes to 1 to 1.5 hours one way drive. The back country roads in the daytime are not bad. The main quota highway is excellent from San Luis Potosi to Ciudad de Valles and very safe and well traveled and monitored by police and the National Guard. We flew in from Cancun, where we live, to San Luis Potosi. The waterfalls in Micos, Tamul and Minas Viejas are just spectacular. Lucero at Selva Teenek was very very pleasant and attentive keeping us informed with all her helpful texts. I am glad we stayed 5 nights because the side trips are convenient daily without tiring yourself out. You get to enjoy the rainforest at Selva Teenek! Muchisimas gracias to all the staff at Selva Teenek for making our stay with my wife and teenage daughter simply outstanding!

Outstanding place in the rainforest just 5 minutes drive from the Micos waterfalls. Very pleasant and attentive staff. Breakfast and dinner was included in our package. The rooms are very clean and air-conditioned. We were 1.5 hours one way drive from Tamul waterfalls and 1 hour one way from Minas Viejas waterfalls. We stayed 5 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. Note that there is no kitchen or microwave inside the rooms So do not bring any perishable items that require refrigeration. Bring non perishable snacks. Water is provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!
