We had an absolutely wonderful family stay at this hotel, earning a perfect score across every category! The location couldn’t be better—close to local attractions, dining spots and easy transport links, making outings with the kids totally hassle-free. Every corner of the property was immaculately clean, from our spacious guest room to all shared public areas; housekeeping kept everything fresh and tidy each day without fail. The staff delivered warm, attentive service throughout our visit, going out of their way to accommodate our family’s little requests and always greeting us with friendly smiles. We were also really impressed by the well-maintained, family-friendly facilities, which offered plenty of fun and convenient amenities suitable for both children and adults. This hotel exceeded all our expectations for a family getaway, and we would happily book here again for our next trip!

Here’s a polished review you can post: I recently stayed at VOCO Hotel at Thousand Island Lake over the weekend, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, very clean, and perfectly located with amazing scenery around the lake. The rooms were spotless, the staff were warm and professional, and the amenities were excellent. Breakfast was also one of the highlights — a great variety of food and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. However, there were a few things I found disappointing. Trip advertises several “free gift coupons,” but in reality they mostly feel like a strategy to encourage you to spend more money rather than actual complimentary benefits. It was a bit misleading. Another thing that felt excessive was the hotel photo service. They give you only 3 free pictures, and if you want additional ones, they charge ¥80 per extra photo, which I honestly find quite exorbitant for simple pictures. Aside from these issues, the hotel experience itself was wonderful, and I would still recommend it for the cleanliness, location, service, and overall comfort.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were cozy and comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help. We originally booked a room with separate beds, but since we were traveling as a family, the staff kindly helped us change to a room with one large bed for free. The hotel is also a great place for families with children. There is a free playground, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was very good, with a nice European-style selection. The most beautiful part of the hotel is the amazing view from the terrace. It was a pleasure to sit there and enjoy the scenery. We were very satisfied with our stay. If we visit this place again, we will definitely choose this hotel once more. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay at VOCO. The room was of a good size, although the children’s beds were very firm. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. There is also a delivery Robert which brings outside delivers to the room, which was handy! It would be great if the pool and water activities were open, even in spring.

Voco hotel offers amazing sunset view at its lobby bar and you must book the lake view room if you want to be greeted with the beautiful lake view first thing in the morning you wake up. Hotel has well equipped gym with splendid lake view and hotel buffet breakfast offers wide variety. Overall a great stay.

Full Review Our stay started poorly and unfortunately did not improve. Arrival & Parking There are no proper parking spaces and no assistance from staff to help find one. The few available spaces are extremely small and unsuitable for an SUV. Once we finally found a space, we felt unable to drive again in case we lost it. Check-in Experience At reception, I experienced clear reluctance to serve a foreign guest. Despite three receptionists being available and no queue behind me, none assisted me. Eventually, the manager who was serving another guest stepped in to help. For an international IHG hotel, there was no English spoken and no attempt to use translation tools. Additionally, the coupons included with our Trip.com booking were not provided. When asked, staff said they were “too busy.” My wife later had to complain in person to receive them. Facilities & Staff Attitude The location is good, and the children’s play area is well designed, making it appealing for families. However, staff supervision was poor. On two occasions, a male staff member was reading a book and drinking tea while older children were pushing and swearing at younger ones, with no intervention. Room Condition & Maintenance The room was unacceptable: Mould in the shower Blood stains on the bed Toilet flush barely worked Shower took 5–10 minutes to get hot Air conditioning rattled all night and was slow to cool Window latch was missing, raising safety concerns We reported these issues to reception and were told they would “look into it.” No follow-up or action was taken. Later the as we left the room the cleaner rudley shouted at us from the end of the corridor to ask if we were leaving and if she could clean the room. Food & Dining The food offering was disappointing. The menu is heavily fried, with very few vegetables—whoever designed it clearly dislikes greens. Breakfast bread was stale, and the pork served at dinner was undercooked/raw. Overall, choices were limited and poorly executed. Value for Money We paid around 1500 RMB for two nights via Trip.com, only to later discover the same room was available on TikTok Shop for around 800 RMB. This felt extremely poor value, especially given the service and room condition. Overall Impression The hotel looks good in photos and is fine for optics and social media, but thelocation is what truly saved our stay, as we could leave the hotel to eat and spend time elsewhere.

Had a great stay at the Voco, me and my wife where very happy with all the facilities. Big shout out to July Wang and MayHu, they were both amazing and accommodating to both of us.

The service is excellent. I felt ill on one of the days and couldnt order medicine online and the ground staff offered to purchase for me and I paid him back and of course with some tips. The chambermaid, Mdm July Wang is good too. She knew i love to drink hot beverage and send me quite a number of mineral water and hot drink sachets. I would stay here again the next round.

Voco is an amazing place to be! Outside the beautiful and clean environment. The professionalism is top-notch, and the reception is top-tier tier and the photographic department is the best ever! They take their time to explain to foreigners and are really understanding.

Location is excellent. Food in the Chinese restaurant could be better.
