Casale San Galgano

We were very disappointed. We booked this venue exclusively for our wedding and whilst visually it was everything we wanted the service we received did not live up to the expectation. We checked in to the hotel and were given one key to the apartment my fiance forgot the key and it turns out that you cannot open the door without a key. We found ourselves locked out of our room at 9.30pm we went to reception they were closed we went to the bar they were closed even though advertised to be open until 10pm there were not staff on site. When we booked the venue and received out contracts not once did it state that all staff are unavailable from 8pm onwards thankfully my parents had booked in the venue the night before or we would have been sleeping on sun loungers with an 8 month old baby. We slept on the pull out couch and floor in their room and when we told staff what happened they still charged us for the nights stay even though they did not answer the emergency number on the reception door to help us! On the day after our wedding as we were checking out we were shocked with a surprise bill as I went through it, it didn't make sense I explained the contract we had with the venue to the receptionist and test the amount they were asking for was paid for. He replied so rudely that he had not seen the contract and that it was with the owner not him. I asked to speak with the owner and he came out and did some maths from his head scribbled a number pointed at the rooming list and walked away without a word to me. I was shocked I pulled the paper toward me tool out my phone and calculated the amount showing it to the receptionist that we had paid the correct amount and demanded the owner calculate it with a calculator. He disappeared in to the back room and came back barely apologied the error and the upset they caused. The venue is beautiful and it is clear they rely heavily on that for their business and customer service is not a concern for them. In saying that I need to call out the young man who served us dinner the first night and brought the refreshments for the bridesmaids to our room he was so polite and friendly. The women who served us breakfast although she did not speak English she was so friendly and we could understand all the well meanings she gave to us and our children she was a lovely women. I hope that the Nico the owner sees our review and can ensure no other couple have this experience on their wedding day

A lovely small hotel with 4 star restaurant attached. Yes, the roofless-abbey is mainly why people visit, but the restaurant is it's own destination. It's a beautiful place to simply sit, relax and enjoy a glass of wine or espresso.

Although clearly a touristic place.. very rustic setting .. absolutely stunning pasta! Rarely eaten such good pasta .. actually tried them all .. good local Wine … very kind staff... excellent value for money

Ci siamo fermati al ristorante dopo aver visitato l'abbazia e l'eremo adiacenti..siamo rimasti piacevolmente colpiti dall'ottima cucina tipica Toscana e dalla cordialità e professionalità del personale. Lo consigliamo sicuramente a chi visita questi bellissimi luoghi e a chi cerca lo "star bene a tavola"

Ieri ci siamo fermati in un posto incantevole. Un paesino di nome Chiusdino un antico borgo medievale che và ASSOLUTAMENTE visitato da chi è , come INNAMORATO della toscana. All' ora di pranzo ci siamo spostati all' eremo di San Galgano ( dove c'è la Famosa spada nella roccia - realmente ) ai piedi dell' eremo c'è un agriturismo...... Con annesso Ristorante. Di proprietà della Sig.ra ANGELA ,dai modi squisiti simpatica con del personale affabile capace e una cucina ....... STRAORDINARIA . Non saprei cosa aggiungere per esaltare come ci siamo stati e come abbiamo mangiato. Mi raccomando se passate da quelle parti NON VI PERDETE QUESTA ECCELLENZA

Appena arrivati gli odori hanno fatto da benvenuto e prometteva bene. Dopo abbiamo confermato la sensazione iniziale. Una bella esperienza. Non da meno la gentilezza e rapidità del personale. I primi ci hanno deliziato, ma anche con i dolci la cosa non è cambiata. Di solito i ristoranti è lì che cadono.
