Moreton Park Hotel

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Spotlessly clean throughout. Spacious room - very comfortable bed & pillows. Amazing breakfast - plenty of cold food choice (cereals, fruit) and freshly cooked full English. We only stayed one night for a family get together in Chirk but would definately stay again. Highly recommend this hotel. Please bear in mind however that we had trouble getting taxis - long waiting time or couldn't get one at all!!!

What a brilliant find this hotel was, so close to Llangollen for our canal trip the next day. Our room was clean and spacious, little touches like biscuits with the tea tray and shower wash dispenser in the bathroom made it feel less like a budget hotel. All in all It was excellent value for money and we'll definitely be coming back here again.

Arrived at the hotel which on first glance had a large closed sign attached to the building. The hotel seems to be catered for contractors, over boot protection provided at the entrance. The rooms are basic, and clean, the room I was given did not have any air conditioning and unlike a modern hotel had no usb sockets. The following morning went into what appeared to be a decommissioned restaurant/ bar for breakfast which once ordered took a while to arrive, but there did seem to be a lack of staff. In my opinion this isn’t a hotel for families it’s for people who are literally working in the area.

Convenient location for Wrexham or Llangollen. Few shops next door plus Dobbies garden centre for browsing. Easy check in and the receptionist was helpful. Room was spacious, very clean and fluffy towels. Shame the pub only serves breakfast but closed evenings. Nice pub within walking distance.

We stayed at moreton Park for over 15 years. I would like to point out that this hotel has been on the market for sale for years. It just comes off the market. I saw it when the restraunt was open and when sunday lunches was excellent and had to book to get a table. The hotel is run by staff who try their hardest to keep the hotel open. They are friendly and obliging. I have always had clean bed linen and towels. The rooms are bigger than some lodges. Phones used to be in the rooms, but sadly, people dont respect others . Walk away with the phones. Iron, .T V remotes. I read about someone who wrote a review that there wasnt any guide leaflets in the room and used the word to describe this as Parsimonious. I felt annoyed . If the person knows how much all the staff work very hard to keep a service going. It is not the staff fault that people used to walk away with items provided in the room. Breakfast is made by one person with no help from anyone. If she has two guests or a 22 football team. She just plods on alone Without Lynne cooking every day of the year breakfast for the guests. There wouldn't be any. Just appreciate the service she provides. Who can anyone do all this work on her own She is an angel!

Two of us stayed here this weekend. Staff friendly, hotel very clean, room was lovely. Lots of storage space, comfy beds. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order, plenty of choice cereal, juice, toast etc and Lynn was managing this very well on her own. Our weekend was enhanced by the amazing welcome we received wherever we went sightseeing. Go to Whittington Castle, such a beautiful place.
