Looks like 5 * ratings are managed and misleading. unclean floors and walls, bathrooms . Lizards on walls. Dirty sinks and bathrooms. Iron dormitory cots with bad mattress and un clean bed sheets . 3 star hotel price for dirty dormitory type rooms. Refrigerator is dirty with servants or owner’s groceries. Full of mosquitoes. Not even basic necessities like soap, shampoo, towels, dental or shaving kit are provided. Fan blades are dusty. Didn’t even clean them. Time Restriction on driver accessing toilets and washrooms . It’s not worth paying more than Rs.1000 , not worth 2500 he is charging. Greedy owner exploiting pilgrims enticing with close proximity to temple. Better to go professional managed hotel or lodge.

It was really a pleasure to stay at Homestay Senthil Akam. We had been there in the month of November 2021 with my old parents, for a pilgrimage. The hospitality of the owner was too good. Facilities made us feel as if we were at home. He also guided us with the temple timings, auto rickshaw contacts and referred good food joints. Facility to make coffee / tea with necessary utensils and ingredients was so great. Altogether had a great time staying there. More than anything, my parents were very comfortable and are full of appreciation for the owner and the room - Hema

Being solo and new to the location and not knowing language my choice of homestay senthil akam was wonderful. The owner was so helpful and would go out of his way to provide all facilities and knowledge about tourist sites. Being able to use the kitchen again was really useful. I would recommend this homestay to tourists visiting chidambaram since it is close to the famous natraja temple also.
