Safari Inn - Chico

I got there, and the woman checked me into a room that was adjacent to a RV that was broken down. I let her know I didn’t want to stay in that room. And she moved me two rooms down to a room next to a broken down car. I went in the room just to use the facility before going to an event and realized that it was not clean and pretty old and dated. The walls seem like they had not been painted in a long time and there were holes in the walls from hangings of paintings. In addition, the cable was out so no TV. The door did not have extra security to to lock it at night. I ended up, leaving to go to my event, and realizing that I did not have my credit card because the woman did not give it back to me when she she charged it at the desk. I had to turn back around and go get my credit card which was sitting at the desk. I am not sure why the woman did not call me to let me know that she had the card. Because of the fact that I didn’t feel safe at that establishment. I ended up booking a room at the Doubletree instead. The policy at the Safari Inn is for no refunds so I just ate the $113 I paid. It is no way worth $113.

I had planned to stay for one night, however the next morning I decided to stay an additional night so I went to the office to extend my stay since when I checked in the night before the man at the desk said to book directly through them next time because I would get a cheaper rate and not have to pay the booking fees that most travel sites charge. When I went to the office the lady said it would be $70 Well that was actually more than I had paid through a booking site so I told her never mind I would go online and look, so I went to my room and I went on to the safari Inn website and was given a rate of $58 What taxes it came to about 65 dollarso I went ahead and booked that When I went to the front desk she said well I'll go ahead and honor that rate but you'll have to check out of the room and not check back in until 1 PM That's absolutely ridiculous there's no reason why I had to pack up my stuff and check out just to check back in 2 hours later . I will never stay at this hotel again
