The Islander Chiang Mai - Hostel

Such an amazing hostel for meeting people! I only stayed one night but returned in the evening on other nights while in chiang mai as the guests, staff and events were great. Special thanks to Rory - he always made such an effort with everyone every day and it made such a difference to everyone’s time there. Especially mine as it was my first stop whilst solo travelling and he instantly made me feel comfortable and welcome :) thanks again and if im ever in chiang mai again i will 100% stay here :)

I can't recommend Islander Hostel in Chiang Mai enough! The place was spotlessly clean, and the vibe was just amazing. All the staff were lovely—special shoutout to Jason, Rory, and Taya, who truly made our stay unforgettable. They were always up for a laugh, which kept the atmosphere fun and welcoming throughout. It was so good that we ended up extending our trip. This was an easy process as staff assisted us with booking activities, organising taxis, and making sure everything ran smoothly. Their local knowledge and helpfulness really made our trip stress-free and enjoyable. If you're heading to Chiang Mai and looking for a friendly, clean, and fun place to stay, Islander Hostel is the one. Highly recommended!

I'm not the type of person to leave reviews, but I have to spread the word about this hostel. Out of the countless hostels I've stayed at, this one is hands down the best. This isn't just a hostel, it's a family. A family that will invite you to be a part of it. Alex has truly created something beautiful here. I also cannot thank the wonderful staff enough for such a great experience! Aummy, Taya, Asya, Ai, and Raymond alike. From organizing events everyday, to bringing us out to clubs and parties, they really do everything right. They make sure that everyone feels included. I ended up extending my stay in Chiang Mai, but had to book another hostel since this one was full. However I still came back everyday to hang out with the people from the Islander because I enjoyed it so much. They're also very helpful with all sorts of tips about Thailand and can help you book various types of transportation and experiences. This is absolutely a social hostel, but at the same time you can take time to rest and relax quietly when you need it. Also facilities-wise, it's sublime. Everything is so clean, the beds are very comfortable, they offer free drinking water and two nice little kitchenettes to use. So overall I'd say no matter the type of person you are or the type of travelling you're looking to do, you'd be making a mistake not booking AT LEAST a couple nights at the Islander.

Couldn’t rate The Islander highly enough!! Alex and his team make such an effort to make everyone feel welcomed and create such a great social atmosphere with different events on every night! The hostel was always clean and the dorms are nice and spacious. Can’t wait to come back one day :)

Just stayed at this beautiful little hostel for 4 nights, nice and clean, big comfy beds and great A/C in the rooms which you are going to want. The owners Alex and Kate are both total legends. They will help you learn your way around Chiang Mai, arrange any trips you want to do and in the evening they make sure you get to know some fellow travellers before taking you on a night out. Awesome atmosphere, sad to be leaving, can’t recommend it highly enough. This place is pure fire.

Amazing hostel- Alex and Kate are incredibly helpful, super friendly for example I left my passport at the hostel and they found a way for it to be safely and conveniently transported to me. It’s very clean and very safe place with a great outdoor space at the front and on the roof. It’s a very sociable with group activities on offer most night. Would recommend to everyone
