Camping le Val de Bonnal

We spent a week on this campsite which offers a range of activities including a pool with slides, and access to the lake. This seems to be the main attraction to the campsite and as such it attracts families with plenty of activities for children to be doing all day. However, this campsite fails to get the basics right. We booked a classic pitch as that was all that was available at the time. The pitch (C29) however was awful. It was all mud with no grass, and covered in fruit fallen from the tree. It also received no sunlight due to overgrown and low hanging trees, which also caused issues as to where we could situ our caravan. There was also a general lingering smell of drains most evenings. The toilet block (Block B) was very outdated and dirty. There is a blackboard on the wall which states when they were last cleaned. I visited the shower 5 minutes after they were cleaned and they were disgusting. It smelt bad, had engrained dirt on the floor and walls. And it was missing the basics like a hook for your towel. The toilets do have hand soap but no hand towels or hand dryers. The clean water tap near our pitch had a constant blocked drain for the week we were there which caused issues reaching the tap. The toilet waste disposal is situated in the toilet block next to the urinals and was very dirty. There is a snack bar providing fast food throughout the day. The quality of the food is mediocre and expensive for what it is. The steak haché was burnt and dry. However the burgers did look nice. The campsite shop offers fresh pastries each morning but the shop itself is run down , dark and dingy. The queues are extremely long in the morning, with only one member of staff on the till. I am unsure as to how this site achieved 5 stars. I have stayed in nicer 3-star campsites in France. In summary, the site has lots to offer which probably explains everyone else’s positive reviews, but they really do need to get the basics of pitches, toilet blocks, and facilities right which are all poor.

Beautiful campsite with great facilities. We stayed in two of the wooden lodges which were clean and comfortable. The campsite itself was clean and well laid out, and next to a lovely lake and river. The children enjoyed the swimming complex and hiring bicycles, as well as the kayak trip down the river organised by the campsite. Idyllic!!

We were due to stay at Val du Bonnal in 2020 and 2021 but had to cancel due to covid. Finally we made it for five nights at the end of a longer camping trip and it was entirely worth the wait. The site is in a beautiful location, very peaceful but with plenty of activities for families. The emplacements are huge with lots of shade. The ones which look onto the river are particularly good. The facilities are well maintained and perfect for family camping. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Our children (7&9) loved the pool and we all enjoyed the slides. There are great cycle paths nearby which are perfect for family rides to nearby towns. Kayaking was also great fun. The only downside was that we couldn't stay for longer! Thank you Val du Bonnal for a wonderful stay, we hope to be back.

We had an amazing stay at Val de Bonnal. It is a fabulous campsite with lots to offer all ages. Facilities are superb. Toilets and showers immaculate. Washing facilities superb as well. Bar and restaurant provide lovely food which is good value. Not much by way of evening activities but a great place to relax and switch off. Beautiful walks around the lake and nearby area.

As a kid I loved this camping and after decades I returned to Val de Bonnal with my 10 year old. He had a great time and enjoyed him self with other children in the pool, at the lake and near the river. The places are large and the rental accommodations are clean and in good order. For children there are lots of things to do also in the area : dinopark, three climbing,canoeing ,the Peugot museum. Go and explore the scenery ,the small villages with their small bakery stores,who sell amazing products.

Camping ultra spacieux l'une des grandes reussite de çe camping. Néanmoins toujours le même problème que beaucoup de visiteurs on en générale, on patauge dans la boue sur les emplacements. Activité : piscine ok , activité en générale qui semble sympa mais hors juillet août vous pouvez oublié. Il manque un effort sur les aires de jeux pour enfants au vue des 5 étoiles présente . Des 3 étoiles propose parfois mieux . Salle des jeux arcade sympa rien de fou . Sanitaire : spacieux moderne fonctionnel mais punaise ..... c'est vraiment sale niveau toilette et poubelle qui déborde et extérieur des douches sale. Nous somme que en mai ...... revoir le planning d'organisation de nettoyage . Snacking : sympa mais proposer dans jn 5 étoiles une petite restauration plus élaboré serait sympa . Mais rapport qualité prix c'était bon .. Néanmoins nous avons un beau week-end mais un.peux cher sur le.plan rapport qualité prix .

Wij zijn twee weken met onze vouwwagen op deze camping verbleven. Bij aankomst werden we door vriendelijke dames bij de receptie ontvangen, en door middel van een duidelijke plattegrond werden wij naar ons plek gewezen. Een ruim opgezette plek met voldoende ruimte voor onze vouwwagen, auto, fietsen etc. De camping is heeft een mooi zwembad, wat geschikt is voor elke leeftijd. De sanitaire voorzieningen zijn ruim en voldoende aanwezig en waren altijd netjes. De kinderen speelde heerlijk in de aanwezige speeltuintjes of bij het naastgelegen meer waar je door middel van een poort makkelijk en snel toegang toehad. Op de camping is een klein winkeltje aanwezig wat ons elke dag voorzag van vers stokbrood en lekkere croissants, verder was er een klein assortiment aan dagelijkse boodschapjes. Supermarkt voor de boodschappen op enkele minuten rijden. Eten bij het restaurantje (ter plaatse eten/afhalen) smaakte goed!

Emplacement caravane vraiment confortable, prestations ok. L.accès direct à l'Oignon pour faire du kayak est vraiment appréciable . Le parc aquatique est plus petit en vrai que sur la photo mais vos enfants vont adorer. Petit bémol pour un 5* : bloc sanitaire du fond dans un état de saleté ahurissant (15 août 2023 8h du matin, les 'restes' de la nuit étaient encore présents...)

Personnel sympa .très peu de français. Propreté sanitaire peut faire mieux. Épicerie une caisse pour tous les clients,une pince à croissant pour tous,fruits et légumes abîmé. Zéro animations le soir laisse à désirer pour un 5 étoiles il en mérite 3
