Hotel Maxim

I was unable to travel due to illness of my family. The hotel rejected a refund and didn't offer a solution like a reschedule.

This hotel gave my wife a shock as the door was damaged with see through gaps. There was no cupboard and pillows was no fresh. The air conditioner was not so cold and very little air was blowing. I suspected the screen filters and removed them (2) and found them totally cloughed. Maintenance was poor as the room was dusty . We booked this hotel for 2 nights but left the next day and stayed in another hotel which was better and cleaner.

Before I go on with my review I would firstly like to say I have been travelling south east Asia for 3 months visited Thailand and Vietnam, I have not done things expensive either it has all been on a budget of £10 a night. The room we were given it had a terrible smell there were marks all over the walls, water marks and marks we had no idea. The Ac made loud noises and no cold air. The bathroom smelt damp had a hole in the ceiling and the shower head was dirty. There were ants and geckos in the room, ants would come through the door and the rotting wood in the bathroom. There were two tvs in the room one was broken. asked to be moved rooms due to the ac not working and was told the hotel was full and to wait till the next day. This was fine until we found a bed bug in the room and they magically found an empty room. This room was equally damp, smelling dirty, cigarette burns all over the bed and to top it off had no hot water. AVOID These were the premium rooms on the ground floor, so I dread to imagine what the cheap rooms on the upper levels were like, they thought they did us a favour as we paid for the cheaper rooms and they gave us the pricier rooms. On top of this the ground floor was incredible noisy with the staff shouldinf at cars reversing

The guy at the reception was kind, but the room was dirty, not well-maintained and the bathroom was leaking with water everywhere. The location is central and the AC works well, but besides that i woul not recommend it.
