Chateau Maraval in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne region of France is a wonderfully restored chateau sitting in extensive grounds with a gorgeous swimming pool that we virtually had to ourselves most of the time during our 3 night stay. The temperature of the water was usually in the range of 26-28 degrees - so a pleasant temperature for a nice swim on a sunny day. The restoration of the chateau is in a unique minimalistic style with no expense spared. Currently only a four bedroom bed and breakfast hotel the restoration is striking and stunning in its recreation. Breakfast is delicious with cereals, fruit, bread, cheese, meets and home made jams to choose from. Our hosts the owners Ann-Marie and Thierry Sponne cooked us fresh eggs in a style of our choice. When you are next visiting the Dordogne be sure to include Chateau Maraval in one of your stays.

The owners, Thierry and Anne-Marie, we two of the nicest people we have ever met in our entire lives. They always did everything possible to make sure our stay was extraordinary. They always worked so hard in every way possible to be sure that our stay was enjoyable!! We are sp appreciate to them as our 5 days at their Chateau was 5 of the best days we have ever had at any hotel or resort. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Thierry and Anne-Marie! We hope to see ypu again sometime!!

It was a large property with only four guest rooms, which were huge. Beautiful, quiet property in the country. Hosts were amazing! Breakfast was high quality and plentiful. The hammam, the hot tub, and the pool were top quality. We would stay again in a minute, just longer next time. For France, the bedrooms and bathrooms were huge and extremely well decorated and appointed.

My wife and I stayed for two night as part of a vacation away from the kids within a larger month-long vacation in France. We were drawn to the uniqueness of a modern interior. Thierry and Anne-Marie were exceptional hosts, very personable and provided personalized service. We found the interior and exterior of the property to be impeccably clean with pleasant smells. We also found the chateau to be conveniently located in the Perigord Noir, so that we were anywhere from 10-25 minutes from the jardins, restaurants and villages we wanted to visit. We stayed at a more traditional chateau the following night and do not regret that we decided to try out Maraval for its contrasting, more unusual interior given the region.

Le lieu est enchanté (château parfaitement restauré, style Modern Art ce qu’il faut pour apporter à l’ensemble, les chambres limitées pour la quiétude du lieu et justement décorées, la piscine au milieu des grands arbres…précieuse..) L’accueil est sans faute, intelligent et feutré, le service irréprochable Bref..on se dit qu’il faut varier, mais on a envie d’y prendre ses habitudes

Demeure de charme sous le soleil du Périgord, ce château en fera saliver plus d'un. Il est composé de 4 chambres, idéal pour l'intimité et le calme. Mention spéciale pour la chambre ZEN. Que dire du petit-déjeuner ? Copieux, diversifié, il s'adaptera à tous vos goûts. Pâtisseries maison, œufs brouillés ou à la coque, viennoiseries... Les propriétaires sont des anges tombés du ciel et seront vous accueillir dans les meilleures dispositions le tout dans le but de passer le meilleur séjour qu'il soit. Mais ce n'est pas tout, le coin spa (hammam + jacuzzi) est fantastique. Il sera possible de le privatiser pour une durée d'une heure de 10h-19h. En bref, un cadre idyllique pour se ressourcer et découvrir la formidable région Périgourdine, avec un rapport qualité-prix très très très intéressant.

Séjour parfait de bout en bout: Décoration, propreté, petit déjeuner, accueil ... Rien à redire sur ... rien, avec en prime une discussion passionnante avec le maître des lieux. Établissement d'une rare qualité, qui fait honneur à l'hôtellerie française.

Un pur bonheur, depuis la beauté et le raffinement du logis et des chambres décorées avec beaucoup de goût, la gentillesse pleine d'attentions d'Anne-Marie et Thierry les propriétaires, en passant par le bien-être apporté par le spa et la magnifique piscine, le petit-déjeuner varié et délicieux...Dès qu'on arrive au domaine on plonge dans un univers dont on aimerait ne pas sortir!! A proximité de tous les sites magnifiques du Périgord, et de très bons restaurants tout proches du château. Un grand merci Anne-Marie et Thierry pour votre accueil, tout est parfait, rien à changer!

Nous avons passé quelques journées magnifiques au château dé Maraval! Les propriétaires sont accueillant , chaleureux et de très bon conseil! Nous avons découvert un vrai petit havre de paix! Et espérons y revenir un jour. Merci Anne-Marie et Thierry 😊
