Calanica Resort

We have just returned from a 1 week stay here and have only good things to say about this hotel. It is located back from the road down a long driveway and is located on the side of the cliffs. There is a railway line that runs directly behind the back of the hotel but trains pass only about once an hour, it was never an issue and we found it to be quite quiet. The lodges are located on the edge of the cliffs so for someone with mobility issues this could be a problem. There are lots of stairs and sloped paths to access all areas. Each room is a detached hut/lodge with its own balcony area. Our room was number 24, on the 2nd row down from the top. It had the most amazing views! The lodge itself is clean and modern, it has a good bathroom with shower, hairdryer and some toiletries. There is a safe and small kitchenette which unfortunately did not have a kettle, there was a cooker hob, sink, fridge and some utensils. It has A/C. There is access to the beach, some parts are large pebbles but there is a sandy section. There are 2 areas with loungers, we weren't there at peak time so we never had trouble finding a lounger. There was a beach bar but we never used it. Also there are tennis courts and a pool which are located behind the hotel. There is a restaurant on site, I have to complement the restaurant staff as the buffet breakfast was superb. So much choice, with omlettes and eggs made to order. Very friendly staff. We ate there in the evening on 2 occasions and the evening food was good. The hotel is a 30ish minute walk from the lovely town of Cefalu which has lots of great restaurants. Quite a pleasant walk except for the hill to get down and back up 😆 There is a shop on the main road near the hotels entrance if you need it. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely stay so would recommend this hotel.

I 've never met such a nice place and team! a wonderful view on the sea and a nice beach! the large and quiet swimming pool where you can enjoy & feel Cefalù atmosphere! do not hesitate, really amazing!

We first visited you in 2018 and decided to come back this year and were delighted to find out that things - and staff! - were just the same❣️That is: excellent. We will be back - again. Really nice hotel set in the hillside with great views across the sea. Around 30 well appointed individual bungalows with kitchen, fridge and TV. Staff were super friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast was excellent with wide choice and the 2 lunchtime meals we had were good. Due to the setting and number of steps it could be a little challenging for some but worth it for the daily workout and great view. Walk into Cefalu was around 30mins where we found a number of excellent restaurants and bars. Had a great relaxing week in this friendly hotel.

Very friendly resort with amazing views. It’s set on. Steep cliff side but still pretty accessible Breakfast is superb. The reception staff were very helpful, even taking our suitcase around the town to weigh it for us( it was one kilo over which would be the end of the world for Ryanair). The beach is great for swimming from and it’s a very pleasant walk to the main tourist parts of Cefalu.

This is a well-situated hotel outside of town. You can walk to town in about 40 minutes or drive in about ten. There is parking at the top of the resort and bags will be transported to your room. Breakfast is good with eggs made to order. Kind and helpful service from everyone. All staff are extremely kind, helpful, and friendly. While the views are spectacular, the rooms have no windows! The doors are glass but views from the bed are blocked by a wall with a TV. Other windows are strictly for ventilation with no views. It’s a crazy design for how gorgeous the location is. A picture window would change the cave-like feeling of the rooms. If the weather is nice, you may not care because you can sit outside. We happened to be there while it rained and honestly the room was depressing. On the upside, the rooms have little kitchenettes with a few dishes and a microwave. We made salad two of the nights we were there since we were craving fresh veggies. The wifi didn’t work well while we were there and hot water for showers was limited. You can take a ten minute shower and will have to wait for someone else to have hot water. You cannot drink the tap water so bring a big bottle of water with you. The hotel provides some water in the mini fridge and there was always bottled water at breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and none of the things I mentioned ruined our time in Cefalu. If the weather was better throughout, I am sure it could be magical.

A beautiful hotel with cabanas that gives a lot of privacy, and in our case an amazing view at the sea. Cabana has all luxuries, a very good bed and it is very quiet at night. The staff is great and so is breakfast, dining can be done in the nearby town of Cefalu which is colorful and very Italian. The place has some culture hotspots Al Rocca and the Roman church. Palermo an hour away by rail. Advise to rent a car it does make life more comfortable. The hotel is laid out on a hill sloping down to the sea, you get a free workout. We had a wonderful time in this hotel . The bungalows were well equipped and private and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was very tasty . The view is amazing wherever you are in the resort . The pool area was lovely and quiet. The beach is private with a bar which was really nice . There are a lot of steps / slopes but staff are more than happy to take you for a ride in a little buggy to get around the resort and take luggage to and from bungalow . We Thoroughly enjoyed our week here. Thank you! Would love to return.

We did a day trip on the train to see the WWII museum. Unfortunately the day we went the museum was closed due to a electric problems. We ended up walking around the city and taking a last minute tour on a bus. The seems a bit dirty a lot of graffiti.
