I had an amazing week at the Melia Costa Rey resort in Cayo Coco. It was filled with dancing, drinking, eating, and entertainment. The beach was quite gorgeous with soft sand and waves rolling onto the shore. The water was warm, despite a few days with rain showers. They also had plenty of palapas with chairs to stay shaded. The only complaint I have about the beach was the amount of sargassum left on the shore, which added a bit of an unpleasant smell to the beach air. Near the end of my trip, however, the tractor did come by and clean it all up. The buffet food at this resort was alright. I had stayed here 3 years prior when it was Pullman, and it felt like there was less selection now. I was grateful to have seemingly not experienced any shortages while I was there. Due to the buffet having a small selection, my family and I ended up eating lunch at the beach bar almost every day, with Kiki cooking up delicious paella, chicken, shrimp, and hotdogs on the grill. That paella was probably my favourite thing I ate, aside from the pork sandwich on Cuban day. For dinner, we ate at a la carte restaurants most nights. We were able to get an extra one because it was my mom's birthday, and we also attended the repeat guest dinner. I enjoyed all of the a la carte meals except for the Italian, and my parents felt the same way. Our favourite meal was at the Cuban restaurant. As for my room, I had two double beds with a garden view. The room was cleaned daily and cleaned well. My bath towel was replaced on some of the days, but I wasn't expecting it to be replaced at all, as I left it hanging on a hook. I also use the same bath towel at home for a week straight, so I didn't think I needed it replaced daily. The mini fridge in my room was behind a door, keeping the humming noise to a minimum. It was stocked with beer, coke, and 7-Up when I got there, and it was restocked daily. I was also given a big bottle of water that I was able to fit in the fridge at an angle on its side. The room had a working A/C unit; however, it was an older unit, and I think there may have been mould in it because I smelled something weird when I stood where the air came out. I luckily did not get sick. A family we met suggested bringing Lysol spray to spray the intake vent in case of mould in the system. During the day, there was music playing at the pool, with the beach being quieter for people to rest. There were crazy games hosted by the entertainment team at the pool and beach. Bingo was also hosted in the afternoon at the pool, and I ended up winning twice, meaning I won two bottles of rum just from playing bingo! There were also dance lessons (salsa, meringue) taught by the entertainment team at the pool after bingo. I would like to give a huge shout-out to the entertainers I befriended during my stay. Neilyn, Andy, Angel, Black Star, Elvis, Yaniel, Luis, Sheila, Ronaldinho, and Yaris. I'd like to thank them for being so kind, amicable, supportive, and fun. They truly
