Riva Del Sole Resort & Spa

This is a nice property with a lovely beach and well-kept grounds. The rooms, while on the smaller side, are tastefully furnished and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, offering a generous buffet. Unfortunately, our overall experience was marred by the poor service. We stayed for just one night and arrived in the late evening. Despite being charged a significant resort fee on top of a €520 room rate, we were told we could not use the resort facilities the following day after our 11 a.m. checkout. We had to push back firmly just to be allowed a few hours on the beach before leaving. This left us feeling not only unwelcome, but extremely taken advantage of. The property has potential, but the inflexible and unaccommodating approach to guest service, especially for the price point, was a major disappointment.

In our 5 days there. First of all the receptionist. She didn't show any interest in explaining how to get to our room, she didn't even give us the most basic thing used in the hotel, which is the band to get into the pools, such a pity for a face of the hotel. Check-in is usually at 2 p.m., but when you get there, be sure that you're not hungry because only the bar is open, fwith poor tiny choices to eat. Breakfast was very rich in options; we needn't mention Ibtissem; she was very professional and friendly, hotel needs more people like her. The location is fantastic, but still very far from being an award-winning hotel,T because of the service , the price per night doesn't correspond of what you get. .

If you want a care free vacation experience, this is not the place. I write this as I’m still here and as a professional in the travel industry I am quite shocked. First, (and not the reason why I am writing this review) I reserved a Classic Room and a Riva Room. The Riva room should be 30% bigger, it is not. The only difference between my two rooms is the Riva room has a small walk in closet, I had no intention of spending an extra 150€/ night for a closet!! Second, if you want to spend your time worrying about towels then this is the place. Went to the beach and got towels. When we left the beach was told we can leave the towels on the chairs. Went to the pool and they wouldn’t give us new towels, as we were told the towels we received at the beach were the same towels we were entitled to for the pool, and that we should talk to the front desk manager. After speaking to the front desk manager I was told I have to stay with the same towels !! Furthermore I was told read the fine print in the towel card, guest are only allowed to change towels 2 times a week. How absurd for a resort! As a travel professional who owns an agency I can tell you, guest do not want to be worried about towels and be schlepping towels around while on vacation. I will not be recommending this hotel to clients and am writing this to advise you the reader as well. Unfortunately, after reading some of the other reviews here on TripAdvisor (and the hotels responses), it appears the hotel refuses to learn from guest feedback (and only makes excuses for their behavior), as it seems I am not the only guest with this sort of experience.
