Il Borgo BagaBaga - Exclusive Country Retreat

This is the ONLY place to stay for the perfect room, staff, and view of Castelsardo. We would give the hotel 4- star in a heartbeat if the breakfasts had been of higher quality and reflective of everything else about this little resort overlooking the hilltop town and the Sardinian sea. Very spacious accommodations with top quality rooms and baths, sparkling swimming pool, extraordinary restaurant on the upper level, and ease of travel into town. Mauro and Bruno run one of the best restaurants in Sardinia at this hotel, so it displeases us to mention that the breakfasts included in our room rate were very disappointing - Could it be that the restaurant and the hotel have different owners? We are sure that when Mauro and Bruno read this review they will inspect the breakfast buffet to make sure the food is fresh and appealing. Staff overwhelmingly helpful and pleasant. Look no further! We were even served our cocktails on the cliffs prior to dinner so that the sunset would forever be in our lovely memories of this place.

It is a wonderful location, we had a great view to Castelsardo from the balcony of our room, the room was perfect, the service great, we can really recommend this place, it is worth going/staying there :)

Baga Baga is a wonderful place to stay. The sunsets over Castlesardo are breathtaking, and baga baga is at the right angle on the hillside to have a perfect view. The hotel is very small, and feels personal and friendly. The staff is warm and helpful. Our room was very clean when we arrived, and the daily housekeeping was a surprise and delight. Very comfortable bed with two types of pillows--a thoughtful touch that we appreciated. The restaurant is Michelin rated, and stunning in atmosphere and cuisine. I couldn't be more pleased with our decision to stay here. The only change I would make, is having a second hotel in a different part of the island because the roads are small and windey and slow, so we did less touring than we had anticipated.

We first visited the Baga Baga in 2020 and liked it so much that we decided to return. The hotel was still really good and we enjoyed our short stay (4 nights). The views from the upstairs rooms are spectacular (out to sea and across to the old town of Castelsardo) as is the view from the pool. It is worth taking into account when booking that the downstairs rooms have no view, and are very dark as the gardens behind them are small with towering bushes and trees close to the windows. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and well fitted out. When we were there in 2020 the hotel had gone from buffet breakfast to a 'pre-order' arrangement which is still in use now. The only problem with this is that everything arrives in one go, so if you order juice, coffee, pasties, toast and cereal it all turns up at the table to the same time, meaning that by the time you have drunk the juice the coffee is nearly cold etc.. It would be better if things could be delivered in a couple of goes rather than all at once. The position of the hotel is great for the views that it gives you but the downside is that you can't walk into town as the busy road from the hotel (the hotel is well back and above the road) has no pavements and winds along the side of the cliff. This means driving into town for a meal in the evening which some people may not like, for us this was not an issue. Having mentioned these negatives, I should stress that this is a lovely hotel and I would recommend it to anyone. The pool area is lovely and was never busy even though the hotel was quite full when we were there. the breakfast was plentiful and the room was comfortable - definitely worth a visit.

Albergo con charme con splendida vista su Castelsardo, immerso nel verde. Abbiamo pernottato in una camera Deluxe molto spaziosa con balcone. Pulizia eccellente. Personale gentilissimo. Abbiamo cenato al ristorante dell’albergo e abbiamo mangiato molto bene. Consigliato a chi desidera visitare Castelsardo

Excellent hôtel et restaurant Chambre au 1er étage très confortable avec une vue magnifique sur le village et la mer L’hôtel est en retrait au-dessus de la route, très calme. Magnifique jardin très bien entretenu Dîner au restaurant excellent. Accueil très chaleureux, service efficace, cuisine délicieuse Je recommande vivement cette adresse
