O'Briens Cashel Lodge

What a great place! Our room was huge, including a king size bed, walk-in closet and windows on either side, one of which offered a wonderful view of the Hore Abbey ruins. Situated just below the Rock of Cashel, it's an easy 7 minute walk to downtown, even though there is green pastures all around. Although no "Full Irish" breakfast was on offer there was plenty of choice each morning. Our hosts were very thoughtful and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

Tom and Brid run a wonderful B&B. Our room was large, spotlessly clean, with a super comfy bed and a large modern bathroom. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cheese and characterise, and some wonderful bread. You can't beat the location of O'Briens, right at the foot of the Rock of Cashel, and with views across to the beautiful Hore Abbey, both within a short walk. Town is about 10 minutes walk away. Parking is plentiful and secure. An added bonus is a well equipped kitchen, so that you can cook and eat in the dining room. The local butchers (there are 3!) Sell excellent home-made ready meals. Tom and Brid have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, as well as being excellent hosts. Woul definitely recommend.

Lovely stay at Cashel Lodge. An easy walk into town and close to the Rock of Cashel. An early morning stroll to Hore Abbey was special. The rooms are spacious and a nice bathroom too. Beds are very comfortable. Everything very clean and tidy. The hosts are welcoming and most informative. Breakfast was all anyone could ask for Really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend a stay if anyone is in the area. Very good value for your money.

My parents, son, and myself stayed in two upstairs rooms adjoined by a small landing. The rooms were charming, the beds comfortable, & the bathrooms functional & clean. The breakfast was delightful with yogurt/granola, fresh bread, cheeses, meats, & hot breakfast (eggs, sausage, etc.). The hotel itself is a converted farm building with lots of old stone & charm. The grounds are lovely with gardens, birds, and plenty of parking. The location is perfect, just across from Hore Abbey and minutes from the Rock of Cashel. We could easily take a very short walk down the road to the Hore Abbey entrance and explore the ruins and turn around and walk into town for dinner and the Rock of Cashel car park is just a few minutes drive away. Our host, Brit, was amazing. My son was car sick on the drive down from Dublin and we needed assistance cleaning the car and some clothing. She did not even hesitate at our request for help, providing cleaning solution & a brush for the car and doing a load of laundry. We were so grateful as it was day one of our trip & we needed the clothing and were driving hours each day in the car. Brit was also helpful getting us into a restaurant for dinner. It was a surprise to us that all the restaurants were booked with no openings until late at night (this is due to a limited number of restaurants in the small town, a shortage of employees, & the summer tourist season). So book ahead! At Brit's suggestion, we got into Bailey's by going early, looking desperate, staying only an hour, and dropping her name if needed. We were so grateful this worked as well or we would have been eating dinner at the SuperValu. If you plan to stay in Cashel to view the Rock, I highly recommend O'Brien's Cashel Lodge. It was just perfect for our needs.

My wife and our four children loved our stay. Tom, Bríd and their family are wonderful hosts. Upon arriving, we were greeted and checked in by their daughter. She immediately asked if we had any reservations for dinner (we did not), made some suggestions and then booked a spot. The rooms were comfortable and more than enough. It’s quite amazing what they have done with an old stable house over the course of 30 years. Their B&B is directly across from a beautiful Abbey and a short walk to the Rock of Cashel. We would definitely stay here again.

Our first time to stay with Brid and Tom at Cashel Lodge, in a very quiet location just under the famous Rock of Cashel, and it was a wonderful, welcoming experience. Myself and my wife are well travelled in Ireland and abroad and this stay at Cashel Lodge was a stand out experience. Very spacious rooms, excellent large shower and large continental breakfast in a downstairs room. Breakfast was great .. juices, muesli, granola, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, boiled eggs, cold meats, cheeses, salmon, nice bread selection plus good coffee. A great start to any day - and we were off to hike in the Galtees. Cashel, apart from the obvious historical attractions, is a great base for hill walking. Also has lots of lovely restaurants and pubs. 10-15 mins walk brings you into the center of Cashel. Tom and Brid are always there for you .. and for a good chat. We enjoyed greatly and would highly recommend
