Hotel Casona del Porvenir

Hotel Casona del Porvenir sets a high standard for boutique accommodations, combining elegant Spanish architecture with thoughtful touches of luxury. Arriving early at 9 a.m., we were welcomed with exceptional hospitality—the receptionist arranged an early check-in and even offered us complimentary drinks while we waited. Inside, the hotel impresses with its charming design: lush greenery paired with classic Spanish architecture creates a serene, warm ambiance. The rooms are meticulously equipped, featuring Nespresso machines, specialty teas, and automatic blinds that add an extra layer of comfort. The spacious bathroom was another highlight, complete with a bidet-equipped toilet, a luxurious touch. Location-wise, the hotel couldn’t be better situated, just steps away from the city’s best restaurants and bars. For the best experience, I’d recommend booking a room on a higher floor to enjoy the balcony space and the lovely views. Our experience was made memorable by the accommodating staff, who ensured a seamless stay. I’ll definitely return to Casona del Porvenir and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique, high-quality stay in a central, vibrant area.

Perfect location.In the heart of the old city.The building is renovated with special care.It is very well decorated,has comfortable furniture and is high tech (even the wc).The breakfast is high quality,but could be more quantity.Majority of the staff don’t speak English.My room was a luxurious “prison”.No sunlight at all.I couldn’t understand if it was day on night.

There are a lot of emerald shops in Cartagena, but this hotel is the real gem. Absolutely quiet, tastefully decorated, with comfortable beds, great AC, and great service: they change the towels twice a day, which is lovely, since we needed showers twice a day in Cartagena’s heat, and then tidy up again while you are out to dinner. Breakfast is included; you sit down in the comfortable restaurant and order what you want off the menu. (Coffee and juice is included but you pay extra for a bottle of water.). Unreservedly recommended.

We have just completed our 4 day stay at this hotel and we’ve had a wonderful time. Due to an early flight we arrived at the hotel at around 0945 and they did a great job to get a room ready for us by 1030. The ground floor restaurant, bar and outdoor sitting area were all nicely decorated and comfortable. There is a small pool on floor 3 and jacuzzis on floor 4. Our room was on floor 2 at the back of the hotel so we heard no noise from the street in front of the hotel where many restaurants and bars are situated. Our room had a super king bed which was really comfortable, mini bar and safe. It wasn’t huge but plenty big enough for our stay. The bathroom was similarly proportioned with a rain style shower. Breakfast was on the ground floor and was cooked to order - a good selection of different options were available. As it’s cooked to order it can take a while and unfortunately on our second day we had a boat trip and felt 30 mins was sufficient for breakfast before we left but it hadn’t been done before we had to leave (they did put in containers for us as we left). The hotel is in a perfect location in the walled city and we were really pleased we had decided to stay here rather than the more modern part of the city. All the bars and restaurants we visited were a maximum of 10 mins walk and most were less than 5. Ordered an Uber to get to the airport (10/15 mins drive) as we had a very early flight but didn’t want to risk finding a taxi (there were some available as it happened). Really enjoyed our stay.

Maravillosa la atención del personal, todos coordiales y proactivos desde el primer minuto. El desayuno a la carta y excelente y las habitaciones muy cómodas y bien decoradas. Excelente ubicación y no tan bullicioso Lo recomiendo para familias, parejas o viajeros solos

El hotel y el staff es increíble. Suertudos los que lleguen aquí. La ubicación es simplemente perfecta, en pleno corazón de Cartagena. Además, el hotel y su diseño es hermoso. El servicio fue de primera, el personal siempre atento y amable. Sin duda, no hay mejor opción para hospedarse en Cartagena. Gracias por hacer que nuestra visita a esta hermosa ciudad fuera aún más especial. ¡Recomiendo este hotel con todo mi corazón y espero regresar pronto
