Good hotel facilities to break up long journey although roo.s very hot even with a fan overnight. We booked the meal deal for the value having had at other Premier inns before and been happy. This time the food was below par, clearly all microwaved or fried and not cooked well. The breakfast wasn't buffet but cooked to order and whilst pleasant wasn't overly special. The restaurant was not overly clean however and this really spoilt our stay. Cutlery was dirty, the table at breakfast stained my new shirt with some type of sauce as soon as I sat down and this hasn't washed out. The ladies toilets had been blocked when we had our meal and I did mention to staff as we left however they were still blocked at breakfast with no signage to warn guests and they definitely didn't smell fresh as you entered. Overall a rathe mediocre and disappointing stay which has put us off booking again with Premier Inn.

clean room with comfortable beds, friendly staff & nice cooked breakfast with bar food available for lunch/dinner we ate both evenings in the restaurant which we enjoyed with our 2 sons. we would stay again.

Smithies is a great hotel. Close to M6 and the city but far out enough that you sleep perfectly without any noise. Team were very friendly and room was spotlessly clean. I’m ready for my next visit, the bed was soo comfortable and the choice of form or soft pillows was great

Lovely stay at this premier inn! You know what your getting, clean rooms and friendly staff at an amazing price! The staff go out of their way to help with anything you need and are available 24 hours. 15 minute walk into the centre so perfect location

Had a lovely stay here on our stop off at Carlisle on our way up to Scotland! Very modern hotel and the best part… the staff! All the staff we came across were nothing other than friendly and professional. We’re always there to help with anything we needed. We will definitely be back on our way back down!

My husband and I had a lovely time away in this hotel. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is perfect as it’s just in the centre of Carlisle. There wasn’t anything we could fault with the hotel. We will definitely be booking again in the future

Came here with the Mrs for a night in Carlisle. Staff were very friendly and welcoming as soon as we entered. Asked us if there was anything they could do for us before we went to our room. Cleaning staff were very polite and chatty in the morning. Really great value for money and the beds and pillows live up to the reputation!

This hotel was immaculate! The staff were so friendly and felt just at home. The rooms were spotless and the reception staff were extremely helpful with any queries we had. The food was Devine, especially the breakfast and the waiters were quick to take our dirty plates away and bring us anything we asked for. Would defo go back!
