The staff and owners have been to the worlds best school of arguing with customers. Firstly we paid on the link sent to us when we reserved the accommodation, made payment in full and then spent two days arguing with the owner and reservations desk. they refused to admit that they would look into the reasons why it was not in their account. eventually i was given a bottle of red wine (which i dont drink) as an apology for the confusion. the booking website had directed the monies into their own account. the first morning i went for breakfast and was told that breakfast was only served from 7 30 when clearly on their board it state 7. i was down on business and had a meeting at 8, but the restaurant manager had a full blown argument with me on the working hours. the final straw was when i asked for the bill should be sent to both myself and my partner, i was told that it had been when it certainly was not i am going to be in the Cape regularly over the next 4 months and certainly will not be staying there

Lovely charm to the little hotel with friendly and happy-to-help staff. Easy walking distance to the V&A and can't beat cooling off later in the rooftop bar with a beer in hand. Phenomenal views of Table mnt. Greatly appreciated the airport pick up.

We had a fantastic six night stay at The Grey in De Waterkant. The hotel is situated in an excellent area in Cape Town – in walking distance to loads of bars, restaurants and shops. As well as being a very short drive to other areas of interest such as the Water Front and Kloof Street. The room was super comfortable, quiet and spotlessly clean. The hotel also has a great rooftop bar/outdoor area which has a wonderful view of table mountain. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful – would highly recommend.

Great hotel, great amenities and great location. Staff is amazing and the breakfast is delish! We ended up getting in super late at night, and the staff was in great spirits and helped us check in smoothly. The breakfast the next morning was delicious and the staff was incredible. If you're thinking about booking here, do yourself a favor and hit send!

The Grey Hotel in Cape Town is a delight. Located in the quiet, bohemian quarter of the city. there ar art galleries nearby and a good selection of places to eat nearby, notably a Chinese fine dining establishment. I This family owned hotel is immaculate and managed by friendly, engaging staff. The rooms are interesting and some would say quirky. Check-in takes place in the courtyard. The roof has an in informal bar, a linear swimming pool and view onto Table Mountain. Popular with the locals, the hotel’s characterful restaurant hosts jazz on the weekend and serves delicious Spanish tapas. I stayed for a week, will certainly return and recommend very highly.

A very charming, authenticate hotel in the heart of the Waterkant. Away from the hustle and bustle of the V&A, but close enough if you need to go there. Great selection of coffee shops / bistro's nearby. Staff at the hotel are excellent, and as it's only a small hotel, I feel treated more as a person than just a "no". While I can afford more prestigious and branded hotels in Cape Town, I prefer the authenticity of this hotel and the wonderful staff that look after you.

Location was great. Nice supermarket close by and laundry down the street. Close to port with Uber being cheap. Hotel is quirky with narrow stairs and our room was small but made do for a few nights as area was safe and staff were friendly.

We had a wonderful stay in room 3. Beautiful view from the balcony of table mountain. The bed was very comfortable and there was a great shower. The staff are excellent. Very helpful and friendly. There is a shopping centre around the corner with restaurants and a Vodafone shop to buy SIM cards for your phone. Also a lovely cafe on the other corner across the road for breakfast etc. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Cute boutique hotel , well located walking distance from cultural part of the city and in the middle of a trendy district. Beautiful roof terrace with pool where you want to spent hours enjoying the sun with a great view over table mountain. Staff is very pro and very friendly.
