Good location for business trip in Cape town and nice breakfast and very comfortable accommodation.

This hotel is on a main road and is very close to the V & A Waterfront, Hop on hop off bus and downtown area. You can easily Uber to most locations without needing a car. The hotel itself is clean, bright and welcoming. They don’t have a ramp to bring in your luggage at the front of the hotel but the staff will rush to help you when you arrive. There are staff situated between the front desk and the elevators to ensure you are taken care of and for security. You will need your key card to get to the floor of your room for added security. The rooms themselves are spacious. The lighting is a bit sparse but the bedside lamps are great if you want to read in bed. There is a desk with a lamp, phone and an outlet if you are traveling for business. When the hotel was renovated, they added the desks and removed the dressers so there is no place to put your clothes if you want to unpack your suitcase. The closet has a few hangers and some shelving but not much. There is a safe, a small fridge and a kettle with coffee and tea supplies but no coffee maker. Some rooms have more outlets than others. We found that the outlet in the bathroom has a plate over it so there is no way to plug in anything. There is a drawer in the desk with a hairdryer but the lighting is so poor that it’s not the best place to do your hair or your makeup. If I could make one suggestion to the hotel, it would be to add a lit up makeup mirror to the room. The decor of the room is fun with brick walls and tasteful art. The bathroom shower has a frosted glass wall that illuminates when the bathroom light is on but it’s also see through when someone is showering. Not the best if you don’t want to put on a show for the rest of the people staying in the room. The bed is firm but very comfortable. There are very large comfortable pillows and a snuggly comforter on the bed with crisp white sheets. You will need to ask for a top sheet if you sleep warm. There is an air conditioner in the room that works well but is a bit noisy. There is also a big full size mirror to check out your fit. The breakfast buffet included with your stay is decent. The staff will bring you coffee or tea. You can even get a latte at no extra charge. There is a continental selection of muffins, danish, bread for toast and croissants. Another section has yogurt, fruit, cold meats and cheeses. The fruit offerings are mostly apples and pineapple so it can get a bit boring if you are a fruit and yoghurt person but there is granola and other cereals as well. The hot section has a variety of breakfast choices including an egg/omelette station where you can order your eggs or omelette to be made to your liking. There is usually, baked beans, stewed tomatoes, cooked mushrooms, scrambled eggs, hot cereal, sausages and bacon. The bacon is thick and fatty not like the thin crispy bacon. Felt like a celebrity from the time I checked in till I left the premises. Walking in from the parking basement u could already smell the luxury treatment that awaits you. The staff service was excellent at all points, security, check in & out, breakfast, dinner, in room dining and troubleshooting queries. The room was very clean, bathroom shower pressure was good, and beds bd pillows were comfy. Location is nice and central, close to VNA and the nice & safe parts of town. Breakfast had a lovely variety n changed often enough. The dinners were so tasty, the fish n chips was fresh and a large portion, the connection burger was yummy and te Cajun chicken salad was also very good. I loved every part of my stay there. Keep up your very high standards. Very glad my company booked me there. Felt spoilt.
