Resort Cala di Falco

First visit to Sardinia, and will not now be the last ! Excellent hotel, staff, food (especially seafood), scenery and close proximity to the lovely Marina/ town nearby. Taking in the last couple of days by the pool. Will take a look at the other Delphine Hotels in Northern Sardinia when we get back. If they are anywhere near this one we are in for another great experience 😎

The resort itself is lovely and the main building and pool are very elegant. We were staying in the residence which is across the road from the main resort as we needed two bedrooms. The apartment is ok - aircon good once we figured out how to use it, nice welcome basket of food products and decent implements for cooking. However they really could do with a bit of TLC - the marble on top of our outdoor aircon was heavily stained and the walls don’t look as if they have seen paint for a long time. Obviously we are paying a lot less than if we were in the hotel, but the resort needs to decide if they want to rent out apartments or not, as it does give you a bit of a poor impression. Beds were a little hard but not too bad and we had a couple of towel changes and one sheet change during the week. Apartment pool is small and the ladder to get in is dreadfully squeaky- someone complained about this in 2023. There are a lot of families with small children so it can get noisy. Strictly speaking apartment residents are not meant to use the main pool as denoted by plain rather than stripy towels, but it wasn’t too busy when we were there so we used so,e of the lower level recliners as the views by the main pool are spectacular. Neither pool seems to have showers or toilets- the main one was a bit of a faff as you had to get dressed and then go downstairs, although they were beautifully decorated. It is possible to pay for breakfast and dinner. When we went which I think is low season this cost €22 for breakfast and €44 for dinner. Breakfast was worth the money - especially as we had our teenage son with us - as there was unlimited smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, bacon and delicious fruit.They would also make eggs to order and bring cappuccino to your table. We ended up going most days and not having lunch. We went to the dinner buffet one evening, there was a reasonable selection and quality was high, but wine was expensive and we generally preferred to eat out at the nearby restaurants, would recommend Brezza di Mare and Mola 91. I do not recommend that you do evening dinner at Vigne Surrau as that was disappointing. The resort is pretty, there’s not a lot to do unless you want to drive or do the all day boat excursion. We drove to Palau one day and got a day return to La Maddalena just to see the scenery and that was a lot less expensive than paying for the boat. Husband and some walked up to the nearby viewing point in the morning. We also went for a run along the front, there is an outdoor gym but it has one weights machine and a couple of cardio equipment. Overall to me it’s somewhere between 4-5 stars. The convenience of the apartments would be great if you have a young family, but felt a bit like we were second class citizens and you pay extra for beach chairs, bus to the beach etc. But it is a lovely spot.

(This is for the residence) We very much enjoyed our time here at Cala Di Falco (Residence) with a lovely shaded pool surrounded by trees, nice balconys, with a nice feel of traditional style. We also loved the comfortable beds 🛏️ and a nice stroll to hotel breakfast 🥞. Overall, we think this hotel deserves a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Thank you hotel staff - who provided the right level of attentiveness and service for a relaxing stay. 🩷
