Let me begin by highlighting some of the negatives, as this might be useful for future travellers: The ongoing construction work is highly noticeable and is quite an eyesore for anyone on vacation. It also generates a lot of dust. We missed out on the usual welcome amenities (such as a drink, garland, and musicians) that are typically offered to guests, simply because we checked in early. The rooms had been freshly painted, which made them very damp, to the point where the linen had an unpleasant smell. The pool shower was available one day, but by the next, it was broken and out of order. There are no changing rooms or toilets next to the pool. Although this is advertised as a 5-star hotel, it did not offer Earl Grey or Darjeeling tea. The only available options were Assam, English Breakfast, or Green tea. The quality of the coffee was also disappointing and did not meet the standards expected from a hotel of this caliber. Now, for the positive aspects: The staff were extremely polite and helpful. They were happy to offer us an extra hour for both check-in and check-out, as there was availability. When we raised the issue of the dampness in the room, they promptly sent us a dehumidifier. The lobby is stunning and well-decorated, featuring a vintage car and scooter, which adds a nice touch. The quality of the food is good, and the breakfast spread is quite impressive. The rooms are of a decent size and are kept clean. The location is conveniently close to the usual hustle and bustle. There are numerous restaurants and shops within walking distance.
