Aparthotel Can Picafort Palace

We just returned from a week stay, half board. Beautiful hotel with great facilities, entertainment and spacious rooms. My children loved the mini disco and daily pool side entertainment. Entertainment staff, waiters and hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. Our rooms was spacious and well equipped. There is an Aldi only a 2 minute walk away which was great to grab bottles of water and lunch! There is a shop onsite too. Local town and beach very close! Food was varied and delicious. Always something children will like too! Pool is great and there are plenty of sun beds. Cleaning is a bit odd - no set routines or days they come to clean the room. Ours was only cleaned 3 times during the stay but on one day dirty towels or sheets not changed. They sometimes can early and if we were still in room would then not come back. But it was an easy room to keep clean so did not really impact us. We did not have a great view ( back of another hotel) but hardly used balcony. We traveled with Jet2. Transfer advertised as 2.15hours but only took 1.30 hours!

We stayed for a week mid June and booked via love holidays. The room was fantastic, larger than average, clean and the bathroom was great. Lovely balcony and room had kettle, toaster, hob and a larger fridge. All in all very impressed with the bedroom. Ironing boards were available with a 10 euro deposit. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean and facilities are very good. The pool area is modern and plenty of sun beds. The indoor pool has recently been renovated and better than some spas I’ve been to in Uk. Reception areas and bar areas could do with modernisation. The pool bar is a lovely area. Toilets recently been refurbished and cleaned regularly. There was a different show each night 9.30-10.30 however after the show everyone left and was like a ghost town. My only criticisms would be around evening atmosphere and service. The restaurant staff were fast and quick at taking dirty plates and clearing tables however half the restaurant was cordoned off consistently and we were jam packed in like sardines. So busy and load as lots of children and the flow of the buffet did not work. I was asked by staff mid eating my meal to move table even know the table I had sat at was not in cordoned off section. I just looked at the waiter and he said “big boss won’t be happy”. I was absolutely livid. I then had to move tables with my half eaten plate of food and carry my own drink. The dining experience is not relaxing and instead in and out as opposed to sitting and enjoying but very rushed. Staff don’t come and ask if you would like another drink and you aren’t encourage to stay. The food is fine. A lot of pork and spam for German guest but desserts were fantastic and salad bar always available. Same irritations followed in the pool bar. Had to stand in a certain section for an all inclusive drink even though the bar was empty. The snacks available during the day from the pool bar are worst I have ever encountered in a 4 star all inclusive hotel. Usually you get chips, burgers, pizzas, toasties etc but no. Literally half a cut up white bread sandwich or biscuits and cut up cake from breakfast. Irritating as there’s a full kitchen within the pool bar so they have the capacity. The staff weren’t the friendliest and on a night as soon as the show finished they are rushing around you wanting you to leave even though bar is open till midnight. They close up around you and leave you in darkness so you leave which is a similar theme in the restaurant. Just busy busy to get rid of people. Overall a great hotel with so many positives - location is fantastic, rooms large and well equipped, great on site facilities but the petty rules and staff rules totally ruined it for us. The entertainment team were ok. Seen sat on the stage chatting waiting for their lunch at 1pm most of the time and didn’t really want to engage. Work needs to be done to improve it. Great, quiet Hotel nicely located 10minutes from the beach and 5minutes from Aldi for shopping. Apartment was spacious and clean, nice view out of balcony (Swimming pool); Facilities in the kitchen are not the best but did the job well. Same on utensils, not many but sufficient for a week stay. We had breakfast included but only went down once as the buffet is not fantastic - same for the tea / coffee. The TV had only a handful of English speaking channels which is ok but Internet is extra and that was a strange surprise - quite expensive too as only one device per pass you buy... Staff very friendly at reception, shop and cleaners. Would stay there again!

Hotel itself is a nice hotel, not 'a million rooms crammed into a tiny complex' which you'll see on the island. We stayed All Inclusive for a week and left 3rd of November, hotel was beginning to wind down for the season as we were leaving, it got very very busy from 31st October as they must have had a special Spanish Resident deal on, for Halloween. Good bits: pools are nice, with a small indoor pool and new spa area. Kids splash pool is ideal for around 8y and under. Food is acceptable, much the same as other hotels - there's always something to eat, unless your children are particularly fussy. Very much catered for the European market, but they attempt bacon every day on breakfast, though it's more like fried ham sadly. Some days the meat selection was unreal, roast beef, chicken/turkey etc. Bad bits: if you happen to get a room on the 1st floor above the entertainment room (as we did) you'll quickly realise that it is ridiculously loud and noise comes through the floor, it ends at half 10 which is early enough, but when you have 2 tired small children - half 10 is too late to put up with. They did move us rooms reluctantly, and after some bad attitude from the receptionist "what do you want me to do, it's Mallorca, noise until 12 o clock is normal", whilst probably correct, that doesn't fix my issue, and it's bad customer service. The island was winding down, and many shopping places towards Alcudia had closed for the season. Which was fine for us, and the beaches were a lot quieter. The dining hall gets SO BUSY and LOUD, they don't let you go to the bar to get served for drinks, a waiter has to come and take your order, so sometimes you'd finished your meal before you got the drinks. Which isn't good at all. Put manned self service fizzy drinks/juice and mineral water on at meal times. This was our second visit here, we do like the hotel, but may look elsewhere next time, we do love the beautiful island so will definitely be back to Mallorca.

The Hotel is older but nonetheless clean and in a good overall condition. The staff was average. For the Wi-Fi an extra “ticket” per device is needed, and the connection is bad. The pool towels are also not free. Buffet is also average, juicer did not work properly a couple of times at breakfast, some dishes were cold, selection of dishes could also be better. All in all is the hotel ok for a week or so, but it is not top-notch.

everything was bad. Very old and run down hotel. The rooms are old, the smell is bad, the stove didn't work, there were beetles in the bedding... The floor was washed with chlorine (they probably saw the ticks themselves), so it was impossible to stay in the room after that because of the acrid smell. You have to ask the staff for help several times, you won't get it the first time. I don't recommend going there, better choose another place.
