We loved this place. We weren't sure when we first arrived - it was Saturday with some day trippers. But once they were gone the place was so peaceful, low key, and a perfect getaway. Its surrounded by limestone boulders and karst scenery and there's a couple of fishing villages in walking distance. There are also other beaches on the east coast of the peninsula (good sand, blue water, but in places way too much plastic pollution. Around Getaway resort is good). Sao bien had free kayaks which were great to paddle around the fishing nets at sunset. The water is a little more green and murky and the place is rustic and unpolished, but this made it for us, not detracted from it. Swimming pool is a good addition using the seawater and is really warm. If you can afford it, go for the thatched bungalows right on the beach (the room types all sound similar so worth checking). Don't go for the concrete bunker type rooms, they're not so nice. There's free kayaks which are great for a paddle around the fishing nets at sunset. Staff were friendly and helpful (with the assistance of Google translate) and helped with a taxi in and out. Recommended for a break from the bustle of Vietnam and one of our most favourite spots on our trip through the country.
