Calistoga Spa Hot Springs - Authentic Hot Springs Spa & Resort

Overall : terribly overpriced hotel ! At $500+ a night and based on the website pictures we expected a nice high-end if not luxury hotel. It was far from the treat we expected. Honestly, this hotel is not far above a glorified motel. We had paid extra to get breakfast included. It turned out to be just a $40 voucher for a restaurant in-town, the voucher did not cover the breakfast price at all ! The swimming pools though, are amazing, hot springs waters are a bliss. The views are beautiful. We loved Calistoga, wonderful trip. But the hotel was sub-par.

Pros: - The pools are amazing and I love the different temperatures - Pool area is very pretty - Location is great, so close to town - rooms are cute and comfy Cons: - front desk staff were stiff, not welcoming and had to be pressed for hotel info - snack bar is barely stocked - would do well to offer more items- but worse, never staffed. Watched literally a dozen people call HELLO to the open windows but staff was never there - pool towels ran out several times, again no staff around to check or restock - went to front desk to ask about towels and the 3 staff members couldn’t decide who to send out. Front desk is VERY well staffed (no idea why) while pool towel/snack area was not staffed at all (huge opportunity missed plus lots of disgruntled guests) - music from The Depot was loud enough to shake the windows in our room (room was on the front side of hotel, and we were told it would end by 10pm. Stopped around 11pm. If you bring kids, ask for a room on far side of hotel

We loved our day pass at the spa. We had the mud bath experience which was very relaxing, I enjoyed the steam room a lot and then the wrap in the blanket towel made you feel very relaxed! After the mud bath we spent time in the different mineral water pools. They had different temperatures which was fun!
