Barceló Fuerteventura Royal Level

We've just returned from a brilliant week's stay at the Fuerteventura Royal Level with our almost-2 year old daughter, and we couldn't fault it! Room - we stayed in a suite with hot tub that faced the road, although there was no noise from any traffic! Plenty of room for the 3 of us, bed was really comfy too. Location - the Royal Level hotel area is great, over the road from the marina/harbour area and also not far from the Mafasca buffet restaurant. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from this hotel to Fuerteventura Mar, and you can go across the boardwalk and follow the beach which is a nice walk. Facilities - we were blown away at just how much is included in the Royal Level package and it's definitely worth doing. You get access to multiple buffets including your own exclusive Royal Level buffet on the marina, as well as the pool/snack/ice cream bars and we got 3 opportunities to dine in the a la carte restaurants during our 7-night stay. The pools at Royal Level are great too, including a really shallow one that our daughter was able to stand up in. Plenty of sunbeds, never had to struggle to find a free one. Food - honestly the food was fab, we'd read a couple of questionable reviews before coming but we didn't have a bad meal once. So much choice at the buffets - they can be a little repetitive but quality was good. We also ate at the Palo Santo Mexican and the Rodizio Brazilian - both very impressive (the Mexican is a buffet, the Brazilian is not). We also tried La Dolce Vita Italian but was a shame that it was only a small tasting menu available with our hotel stay, as the rest of the menu looked so good. Next time I would probably just book it and pay the full price to access the whole choice. We spent a lot of our time at the Mafasca buffet, the Green Bar (lobby bar of Fuertenvetura Mar) and the Show Factory (sports bar/terrace on the marina). Really enjoyed it all and had a really great stay. Thanks so much to all the staff who clearly work very hard!

Such a disappointment. We expected so much more. There aren’t enough subbed and umbrellas in the adults royal area, most beds are reserved and then left for hours at a time The room design is very odd. Room was tired, air con leaked and buzzed. Mini bar only free first time round , after that charged. Royal reception needed more staff Food, okay but needed more choice, some show cooking perhaps and a change in design (very like school dinner hall) Some staff intimidating You can’t just pop to reception, it’s a sprawling hotel so be prepared for that Mini golf was always too busy The snack bar at the pool serves the best food…hot, fresh and tasty apart from the Caesar salad that can minus the dressing Entertainment was limited to solo female singers, some good, some not Shower facilities at reception littered with towels and so hot and humid. Try and extend room if you can.

Just had another 2 weeks at the royal level and have to say it is still great , yes the food is a bit bland at times and could do with another 5 minutes in the heat but it's decent quality, the sunbed area is still in need of sorting out as some days there are no spare beds , again an easy fix , move the cabanas up to the top behind where they are now and sort the area out they are in and you would get another 20 beds , problem solved ! I may admit the cleaner in our room 5103 wasn't very good , she never swept the leaves cup outside all she did was sweep them on to the gravel so they just blew back on the balcony on the wind and she was as miserable as sin! But apart for them little bits we have a great stay and will no doubt be back soon :)

Everything from the suite, the location, the food, to the staff - amazing. Only one gripe which isn't staff related, is the towels reserving sunbeds rigmarole!

Cold chips, cold potato’s, cold pizza, don’t think the menu is designed for the brits they had Chinese night but nothing that is on our menu back home. Had a Spanish night with the famous canarian potatoes but were freezing.

Fantastic place to stay if you are looking for a adults only, quiet and relaxing holiday with great service, lovely food and drink choices, and really comfy rooms.

A group of four girlfriends returned from an amazing break at this hotel and resort. We had the best time ever and would love to be able to return. Check in was faultless, they had taken into account our room requests to be near each other and hear the facilities. We were then transferred from reception (Castillo) to our rooms by golf buggy with the porter helping with our luggage and making sure we were happy before leaving us to settle in. We had a mini bar fully stocked (refill is chargeable) and a bottle of cava as a welcome gift waiting for us. The rooms are well appointed, the beds are very comfortable and the amenities were high quality. Because we had paid for Royal Level, we intended to make the most of the full resort, eating at Terra Sana, El Ancla, Castillo Buffet, Paulo Santo Mexican buffet but always found ourselves returning to the delicious Terra Sana in the royal resort. We attempted to try every cocktail on the menu, but found some firm favourites early on, which were all made with the best ingredients, fresh juices and presented beautifully. Pool service is an absolute dream, for eating and drinking and we are so grateful for the exemplary level of customer service provided throughout. Special mention to the following team members who made our stay 5*+, Thanks to Ayoze on reception for putting up with all our crazy questions and requests ahead of our stay. The biggest thanks to Yazmeer for the best cocktails and friendliest service. Camilo, Anna, Alessandro (snaps for Alessandro 🫰🫰) Michelle and Christina in the bar for making us feel so welcome and having fun with us and making our holiday so special. Finally thanks to Dorka and Nomie, for the great entertainment programme. All of the Aqua classes are lots of fun and the ceramic workshop is a welcome creative escape for a couple of hours. Thank you for all you do. Ignore any negative comments, the hotel is definitively 4* but the people who work there, from the lady delivering fresh towels and the amazing Soccorista maje thus a 5* hotel in our opinion!

We had a lovely 5 night stay at Royal Level. We found the accommodation spotlessly clean & very comfortable. The Royal Level area is very quiet with an air of calm. Every member of staff that passes you acknowledges you & are so polite. The waiting staff, bar staff are wonderful. Very polite & happy. The lovely Dorka tries her best to round up people for activities, the water aerobics & relaxing session in the pool is amazing. Dorka enjoys getting to know the guests & is happy in her job, well done. The pool area is lovely, the pool is heated & the sunbeds in the pool are just great. There are plenty of sunbeds, you may not get right beside the pool but they extend down the side of the restaurant with plenty of parasols. Food - breakfast is excellent, lots of choice. Lunch is good. Dinner is disappointing, which is a real shame as we felt this was the only issue that let the hotel down. Lack of main meal choices. Would we come back again? Royal Level adults only is basically good, but there are some things of which there are not enough: Not enough sunbeds at the pool and not enough parasols! The old problem of reserving loungers with a bath towel is alive and well at the Royal Level! Unsatisfactory little seatings at and in front of the bar. Obviously they don't want you to stay there? Breakfast ends at 10:30 am. How are you supposed to sleep in? Remember its "Royal Level Adults Only". To be honest, although the flats have been renovated, they are not big enough. The bathroom in particular is far too small with only one washbasin and the toilet nestled between it and the shower. The opposite of comfortable. There is a window, after all. I could keep going... The cleaning staff and most of the service staff are friendly.
