Le Méridien Ra Beach Hotel & Spa

We have chosen this hotel for its access to the beach, however we had a bad experience today that the front row on the beach is for 100 euros even if you are a hotel guest. Yesterday we settled in the front row area without any problems with family. However today early morning, we were told that if we wanted to use the sunbeds in the frontline, we had to pay 100 euros. For a public beach? The hotel is using the public beach and the local people can come and settle down anywhere they want on the beach, even in front of the hotel sunbed area. I think that A five star beach hotel must offer sunbeds and parasols without any charge to its guests. That’s the reason we stay here. Surprisingly, this application and the fee is not stated or written anywhere on the beach or in their website. I have never seen such a practice in any other Le meridien hotels or Marriotts. Last summer we have stayed in Le Meridien Beach Plaza in Monaco and there was nothing like that. It was totally a much better experience. In addition, the beach boy told us that they don’t make any reservations on the beach without the payment. However, we saw that they do. They make different arrangements for people. This morning our towels were taken by the beach boy and our sunbeds were changed, because they made reservations for another family. This was not unacceptable and understandable for us. We are very disappointed by the hotel’s beach. We wouldn’t choose it if we had known beforehand.

We stayed here in low season, October so the place was not full. Amazing experience. Staff was all friendly. Restaurant DO was delicious and Mauri in the Restaurant was exceptional, best service ever anywhere. We had a Terrance room, one flaw was the wall was too high to see the sea sitting down but nonetheless we spent quite a bit of time on the terrace. Bed was on the firm side for me but perfect for my husband. The town of Calafell is a short walk away and quite nice. Will definitely stay there again

I recently stayed at hotel, and while the hotel’s modern architecture and comfortable rooms were impressive, there were some disappointing aspects. The restaurants provided a good variety of food, but the beach experience was lacking. The hotel's policy of reserving front-row sunbeds for 100 Euros, even for guests, is unfair, especially since it's a public beach where anyone can set up their umbrellas just in front. Additionally, there are no proper showers at the beach, and guests are left with the inconvenient option of rinsing off with a bucket of water. This took away from an otherwise pleasant stay.

Honestly one of the best Meredien Hotels I’ve been too. The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom is very good too. The pool is nice but the beach was nicer and the beach club makes AMAZING drinks that never failed. The beach club restaurant is also very good with a lot of options. The service all around was very good and everyone is so so nice! I hope to come back every year. It’s the perfect summer vacation resort with a nice little town right next door.

Quick side trip to see a nice beach town just outside Barcelona and we are so glad we chose this hotel. It has historical significance as it used to be a children’s hospital & the way the old structure & modern architecture created a current hotel today is wonderfully done. Modern amenities in a small prime beachfront location who could ask for more!

Beautiful hotel and lovely staff. Perfect location and great food. The view is amazing. The bedroom suites are fresh and tidy. Would definitely recommend and love to return. The hotel went above and beyond during our stay, Thank you very much.
