We have just returned from a week at this hotel. It is quite a different set up. The reception for both adult & family areas is in the family side although the adults only rooms are on the other side of the road. These are two storey buildings with up to 15 steps to the second floor ones. Very difficult taking your cases up & down The rooms are very spacious but, as is becoming more common these days, there were only 2 hanging rails & 2 drawers for storage. The balconies were very spacious & the rooms with large balconies had sun loungers or a big bed on them. It’s advertised as in a tranquil spot & this is true. It was perhaps a little too quiet for us though. It’s about 1.25 miles to Cala D’Or along streets lined with some restaurants, bars & shops. We found a nice bar just along from the hotel, Marleys. The couple who own it are very friendly & the drinks & food are lovely & very reasonably priced. The pool area of the hotel is lovely & there were always plenty of sun loungers available I have to say, the staff at the hotel are the best we’ve ever experienced- all of them were lovely. A few were exceptional, George on reception, Pablo in the restaurant & Aline, the Guest Services manager. We experienced quite a few problems with the toilet not flushing & whistling all night. Also the tap water only dribbled out. The shower was extremely weak. We reported these issues from the moment we got there &, fair to say, they responded straight away. Unfortunately the problems persisted, culminating in a flood on our 3rd day. We had had enough by then asked to be moved which they promptly did. The second room was much better. We found out that several other rooms also had water issues. Aline made a point of seeing us to enquire if everything had been resolved. She was by the restaurant most evenings & greeted all the guests, asking if everything was ok & noting down any issues. She was so professional. There was I hr entertainment on 3 nights from 8 -9. However 2 of these were by the hotel entertainment staff. The other act, The Platinum Duo were fantastic. Again, quite a strange setup as it was situated to the front of the outside dining tables whilst people were dining. You could go to the family side of the hotel & watch their entertainment. The main course evening food was not to our liking, although the salad & fruit was lovely, but others loved it. The breakfast was really good with plenty of variety.
