Aparthotel Nelva Resort

Lovely little gem, hidden bavk end of cala en porter. The apartments have everything you need. And it's so peaceful. Never once did we struggle for sunbeds. In fact we regularly had the place to ourselves. Would visit again. Only down sides. The kettle is small and their is a smell from bathroom.

Stayed here in Sept 23. First of all, this is a difficult review to write as we did have a lovely holiday. Also worth remembering is that, for the money charged to stay here, it does offer a lot of positives. But it also has some issues that really need addressing. I will start with those issues but please read below to the end as there are some very positive points to this resort: First off, we were given room 112. On entering we were met with a strong smell of disinfectant. However, within hours that smell changed to a very bad stale / putrid urine smell. Over night this became unbearable. On speaking to the manager the next morning (who was incredibly helpful and a really nice guy), he stated that this happens when it rains and that it was drains related. He moved us to room 102 which is on the opposite side of the resort. Both rooms are one flight of stairs up on the first floor. He also, very honestly, stated that he couldn't guarantee the same issue wouldn't happen in this room. Within hours the smell was present in the new room. We went down and asked for some bleach / disinfectant which he kindly supplied along with some air freshener. The issue still appeared even when it didn't rain. When the disinfectant was poured down the sink, toilet and shower, the smell disappeared. We eventually bought a large bottle of bleach in the supermarket and applied it last thing at night. No more issues. I'm not sure this is either weather related or drain related. It's more like the bathrooms are poorly plumbed. Bottom line is? It needs fixing as the smell is really bad. Secondly, the rooms have been poorly decorated over damaged walls. It feels tired. Thirdly, the bathroom towels are thin, feel old and are not particularly pleasant to use. You do also get towels to use poolside. That last point wouldn't be so bad but ours were only changed once in a week. The room was cleaned with "fresh" towels on the Wednesday, the day after we changed rooms (we arrived on the Monday). We actually left on the following Monday and the room was untouched for the following 4 days before leaving early on the Monday. Putting all that aside, the resort does have some major positives. The rooms are large and roomy. The AC is cold and although situated in the living area, cools the whole apartment. The beds (we found) were very comfortable and we slept well. The pool area is lovely and the pool is cleaned regularly. The bathrooms (smell aside) are modern with proper walk in showers with plenty of hot water and good pressure. There is plenty of hanging space for clothes. The bar is great (gin and tonics were superb). We didn't eat there. The staff are excellent. The manager really did do his best for use for which we are grateful. The entertainment is only a couple of nights a week but was very good. Quality over quantity it seems. Parking is free and plentiful. Mainly, the location is superb. It is only 5 mins walk into town so it's incredibly quiet b

We absolutely hated staying here. The staff are pleasant and the grounds are very well kept. But the apartments are dreadful. They are in poor condition, badly decorated, with cheap and nasty fittings. The cushions feel like they've been filled with used tissues, the curtains are torn, the sofa is as comfortable as a stone bench, there is no oven, plates and glasses are missing, I could go on for quite a while longer.... BUT the absolutely WORST THING is the SMELL. The bathroom absolutely stinks - to the point of making you feel sick. Really awful experience!

Gonna keep this simple, because I guess you'll read it more right?... Without NELVA RESORT, our stay in Cala en Porter would have been a worse stay. Period. We needed some help when we arrived, with some friendliness, and basic assistance that to be honest, were not Nervas responsibility at all. This alone gave us security and a base camp throughout our stay in Menorca..... They helped us with a place to sit and eat and swim and anything else we needed while waiting. A MASSIVE MASSIVE shout out to The Legendary MANU..... the best Waiter we've ever met, Well done Sir and thanku so much, for your humour and all out Waiter Skills, a true asset to this resort. A big thank you to the Manager, who helped us with anything we needed even though it was outside his own resort... a true professional all rounder. Brilliant. The fair sized pool is lovely with an adjoining kids' pool, and plenty of sunbeds, with some always available – all very civilized, unlike some places we have stayed at. The apartment was airy and well equipped with plenty of wardrobe space and a sofa for lounging. The ‘rain shower’ and air con were excellent The pool bar was a cut above most pool bars and served meals in the evening too. And you are not too far (10 mins walk) to a good range of bars/restaurants. There was no safety deposit box in room, although you could store valuables with reception. Wifi was a bit iffy so we went on 5G often. It is a bit of a walk to the nearest supermarket and beach with some stiff inclines (ok for us but could be a problem for anyone with limited mobility). The kettle needed an upgrade as it was more of a travel kettle. If you want to spend some time in the capital Mahon it’s only a short bus ride from Cala en Porter. It cost 1.80 euro pp one way, which you pay on the bus in cash. You can catch one at the bus stop by Sa Paissa restaurant. There’s lots to see and many eating places in Mahon but try a boat trip around the harbour. Overall, Nelva Resort is a great place.

I read many of the reviews for the Nelva Resort before booking our short break here and I'm very happy that I did choose it. Short taxi ride from the airport and we were quickly settled into our 2 bed apartment before heading to the onsite pool. We loved our stay here and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend the breakfast and we also enjoyed getting a couple of takeaway lunches from the restaurant as well as dinner there twice during our stay. The live music evenings are fantastic and well worth getting a table for as they are very popular. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay.
