Gavimar Cala Gran Hotel and Apartments

Hotel is very clean, the all inclusive food is about the standard of a 3 star hotel. What we ate was fine, plenty of choice. We did eat out a few evenings out of choice which we planned to do anyway, but overall the food was plentiful, hot and good enough. The noise from outside the hotel woke us up early each morning. First night, a gardener cutting the trees woke us at 8am. Second night, cars using their horns around 8am, this is by no means a hotel fault! It couldn't be helped. Third night, which sounded like a cleaner using a vacuum as early as 8am? On the last day at 10.15am prior to checkout the cleaner walked into the room expecting us to be out, we were semi dressed which was slightly embarrassing! Surely cleaner shouldn't be going into the room until after the 11am checkout time? The close area to the hotel is very clean and lovely, although on a cold, cloudy day, we struggled to find something to do within the area as we had already visited the marina the previous day. I wouldn't recommend this area for children as close by there is very little else to do other than beach or swimming pool activities. If I were to stay in cala d'Or again I'd consider renting a car so we had more freedom to visit further. Overall, the hot is fab, we really couldn't complain at all for the price we paid.

If you're looking for a cheap all inclusive holiday with excellent customer service, a pool, and an amazing kids club you won't be disappointed! We booked 5 days all inclusive for 3 adults and 1 child  My parents and my son are fussy eaters but they found something to eat everyday we were there  We were near the beach which was great but other than the train/bus tour ride there wasn't a lot for my 9 year old to do nearby. The kids club (mini club) provided by the hotel was excellent and my son really enjoyed spending 2 hours there but it's only on selected days.  We visited 8-13 April 2025 and the outdoor pool was very cold but isn't a lot worse than a lot of UK leisure centre swimming pools.  You may hear a bit of noise from drunk guests or locals but my son is a light sleeper and slept through everything. The hotel is huge and a bit of a maze! The gentleman who greeted us was helpful in marking out areas on the paper map when we arrived but being shown to our rooms would have reduced stress levels a lot. We were very happy overall and would definitely recommend the place and the amazing hard working staff who are excellent 

Well where do I start. Good points. Comfortable bed. That’s it. Bad points. The trip cost over £1000. That’s ok if you like the hotel and everything is fine. I was put into a room that to was below standard. The shower was appalling. Mounted on the scruffy shower cubicle ceiling. It was green from deoxidisation. The water only came out of one side. No soap holder so had to put body wash on the floor. Toilet bowl was filthy. Green gunge under the seat which I left up for the cleaners to clean which they didn’t clean. The room was a mess. Awful cupboard to put your clothes in. Just left mine in the case. Bedside tables were round tin things that you would maybe put a plant on there or something. I’m sorry I didn’t photograph anything. I was going to but because I decided to upgrade to a sea view. It slipped my mind. I think the room I had was used to house people that work there. Moving out to the front of the so called apartment. There were horrible louver windows painted in black. Just full of dust. The second apartment was a bit better because of the view. A bit more tidy inside and looked that you could live in there for the duration. The bath was a mess. The plug hole was disgraceful. One of the pools didn’t open till 10 AM. If you want a drink you had to pay one euro for a plastic pot. It was refundable but should not have to pay. Pool bar only took cash. Let’s get onto the food. Absolutely below standard. There is just to much wrong with it for me to list or complain about. I would be here all day. Apparently you had to pay 4 euros for water from a fountain. If I am doing a review and there are good things to say about the hotel I would. I don’t think I have ever been to a hotel as bad as this. The inclusive flight was only £170 so nearly a £1000 for this hotel. All inclusive was actually cheaper than half board. Be warned. If you go to this hotel you will regret spending your hard earned money. Jeremy. England.
