This is the third Butcombe Inn at which we have spent a weekend break - and as with our previous stays (The Methuen Arms at Corsham and the George at Norton St Phillip) we were delighted with our choice! On arriving, the Inn has it's own car park, but many choose to park on the road outside the premises. We had booked the Langford Suite, which is situated on the upper floor of a former stables block and found a parking space directly next to the exterior stair which led to our suite. I had checked-in on-line that morning from a reminder email with Butcombe Brewery's Inns send on the day of arrival. I popped into the bar (which has a reception area), collected our key and we were shown to our suite by a very pleasant young lady. As always, housekeeping had left the Roberts radio tuned-in to a restful channel and we were greeted to diffuse music as we entered. The Langford Suite was huge and occupies the entire top floor of the former stable block. It had a soaring 'cathedral style' ceiling, held aloft with attractive exposed wooden beams. There was a very comfortable king-size bed, a sofa, two easy chairs, large flat-screen smart-TV, bench at the foot of the bed, pine chest of drawers, bedside cabinets, dressing table and an attractive solid wood occasional table below a large ornamental mirror. The room had tasteful soft furnishings with a half-dozen scatter cushions, thick drapes and bed-runner. A sliding barn-type door led to a well designed bathroom with twin showers, sink, WC etc. There was an array of complimentary toiletries (including pillow mist spray and earplugs) and fluffy white towels. The room also had kettle, cups & saucers, glass tumblers, fresh milk, coffee machine, iron & ironing board, hairdryer and complimentary bottled water. There were pendant ceiling lights, bedside lamps and spotlights to create a number of lighting moods. One large window overlooks the Inn and there were three velux sky-lights (a pole is provided to slide their blinds). That night we had a delicious three-course dinner in the restaurant - which had an inventive menu of well prepared dishes. We slept soundly and enjoyed a hearty Full English Breakfast the next morning before setting off to nearby Cheddar and Wells Cathedral. Staff are delightful, always very obliging, cheerful and helpful. Housekeeping was immaculate throughout. Another lovely stay at a Butcombe Brewery Inn. We have joined their loyalty club and make significant savings booking rooms directly on their website (which is way cheaper than well-known on-line booking platforms). Highly recommended
