Bull Burford

Went for lunch. Absolutely delicious beyond belief. I had the cod. Great service. superlative food. Very nice atmosphere. Fantastic. Would go again and again if could. Lovely decoration too. Great Grayson Perry work in the dining room of the Horn. Of course the place was full of tourists eating but the Bull can't help that. Lovely lovely place/

Amazing stay - staff were incredibly kind and the hotel was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and there were so many different options to choose from for food and activities. The location is amazing - right in the middle of Burford with the countryside right on your doorstep. The staff went out of their way to make it a very memorable weekend.

Had the most amazing stay, can’t wait to stay again. Literally everything was 10/10 from the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out. All the staff are top draw and special shout out to “Anique” whose cocktail knowledge and hosting ability was world class!! X

The Bull had obviously undergone a makeover and looked quite inviting so we decided to lunch there. On entering we had no idea where to go or how to find the restaurant so we ended up following another couple who were heading outside where there was a nice seating area and pizza oven etc. so we decided to find a table. There were no menus on the table so we waited, and waited, and waited to be attended to but sadly just kept being ignored by the very young g staff in attendance. Eventually I managed to catch the attention of a young lad and asked for the menus and he kindly obliged. Once we had decided what we wanted we waited, and waited, and waited for someone to come and take our order. Just as we were about to leave an older lady came over and served us. We ordered 2 pizza’s and drinks. The pizza’s came and they were very nice, freshly cooked, except the pizza my husband had was not the pizza he had ordered, but decided to eat it anyway. We had already decided that we would never go back there with such atrocious waiting staff. It seems that they had spent a lot of money on the makeover and yet employed the cheapest, youngest and inexperienced staff. Nobody likes to be ignored when they are waiting to spend their money!

Wonderful hotel with lovely helpful staff and something arty to appreciate wherever you wander. Loved the fabulous comfy beds and pillows, every room is wonderfully unique. Great roof terrace, loved the BBQ. Just one negative, the wine is excessively expensive by the glass. Way overpriced in our opinion. Breakfast was really good. Special mention to staff members Camilla, Emily and especially Hannah!

The hotel is beautiful. Every nook and cranny is perfectly refurbished yet maintains all of its original charm. Gorgeous art works etc etc. My only complaint was the food. We arrived at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon and they had apparently already sold out of veggie burgers and the calamari. The pizzas were just small flatbreads with a couple of disappointing toppings. We wanted to sit outside as the weather was so nice and so we were limited to this snack menu. Everything was extortionately expensive with a glass of Sancerre being £20. The staff are very friendly and helpful however we get the feeling that the place was staffed with teenagers that weekend.

Recently stayed here for a night and was really impressed. The room was spacious and the interior was 10/10, real attention to detail. Had breakfast and a dinner within the hotel aswell and was equally as impressed. The staff were caring and knowledgable.

Enthusiastic staff but not sure about their efficiency. Quirky decor and furniture but should get the basics right. Service should be sharper. Dining options should be able to cope with inclement weather. Wild menu option needs to be properly cooked - our chicken was not!! They did at least not charge for the failed chicken. Despite the above , I hope they get their act together and make it a success - plenty of work to do!

We often spend Sunday evening away from home to prolong the weekend, first time we had tried the Bull. Room & staff both excellent, a good atmosphere at the terrace bar with live music in the afternoon but one problem, they don’t serve food on a Sunday evening other than flatbreads or a smash burger whatever that is. I did phone in advance to book a table for Sunday evening or would have cancelled the booking. As it was they rather embarrassingly had to book a table at the Bay Tree Hotel instead. Why would a hotel of this standard not offer a dining menu on a Sunday evening..? Worth a try another night maybe but unless you want to go hungry, DON’T go on Sunday
