Hotel Postillon

First of all I would like to point out that Hotel Postillon was the first hotel we fell in love with when we visited Switzerland for the first time in 1998, during our honeymoon. From that year till 2011 we stayed in Postillon 5 times, in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2011, always staying 7 nights or more and were always satisfied. This year things have changed drastically in the running of the hotel. We booked the Junior Suite for 8 nights and although housekeeping was at a good level, the receptionist, on the contrary, was always rude with us. There were instances when we needed the assistance of the receptionist and this was inexisting. The cherry on the cake was when I needed a taxi to go to Luzern main station and when I asked for the help of the receptionist, she told me "You speak with them" after she got the telephone through. It resulted in the price being so high considered that the taxi from Luzern main station to Postillon on the day of arrival was almost half the price of this taxi. I didn't even try to explain to her to try and find a cheaper taxi that she was reluctant to help. The taxi apps I had on my mobile and others I installed were all unsuccessful as they kept rejecting my order. We finished taking the public bus and subsequent train to arrive to Luzern main station with our 10-year old daughter and 3 large luggages and 2 hand luggages. I really like the location of Hotel Postillon as it lies half way between Buochs and Beckenried, a fantastic view of Lake Lucerne and a very peaceful environment. But I am sorry to say that following 7 stays in Hotel Postillon, I will never come back to this particular hotel as we were not treated well this time. You would expect a higher quality of service from a 4-star hotel and us being recurrent clients staying so long each time. Utterly disgusted.

L’hotel si vede dall’autostrada, complice la posizione in riva ad un lago si presenta ordinato, rassicurante, gradevole … insomma, “svizzero”. Ho fatto nuovamente tappa dopo alcuni anni, ed era tutto come ricordavo … ma proprio tutto, nessun lavoro o miglioria pareva essere stato fatto, a parte la manutenzione ordinaria. Le camere hanno mantenuto la loro rassicurante atmosfera anni ‘80. Giá alla prenotazione abbiamo ricevuto la richiesta di avvertire se fossimo arrivati dopo le 18 … difficile da prevedere, fine settimana di esodo con code al San Gottardo … comunque avvisiamo ed arriviamo verso le 19.30, trovando all’ingresso il rassicurante cartello “ristorante chiuso” … in compenso anche la colonnina di ricarica dell’hotel era guasta (richiesta esplicita alla prenotazione) per cui ha digiunato anche la nostra auto. La colazione, compresa nella tariffa di 170 Chf, é risultata piuttosto sguarnita, presenti solo qualche affettato, il pane ed i prodotti confezionati, completamente assenti i prodotti da forno freschi. Il posto é comodo per una tappa di viaggio - personalmente non mi ci vedo passare le vacanze - ma il servizio é risultato troppo basico per un costo comunque non indifferente. Sottolineo quale nota positiva la pulizia di ambienti comuni e camera.

Op de terugweg vanuit Italië een mooie plaats om te overnachten qua ligging. Even de snelweg af en prachtig aan het vierwoudstedenmeer. Er was nog een kamer vrij, helaas hadden we niet gekeken. De afstand tot de snelweg was 50 meter en op gelijke hoogte K312. Bijna niet geslapen door het voorbij razende verkeer. De meerzijde is erg rustig Personeel is wel vriendelijk , de prijzen zijn erg hoog

La recensione si rivolge esclusivamente al ristorante dove abbiamo pranzato. La struttura si trova appena usciti dall'autostrada ma nonostante questo il posto è molto tranquillo e la vista sul lago bella. Il ristorante è tipico di una struttura alberghiera, con grandi spazi e arredamento poco personalizzato. Il sservizio abbastanza buono, la carta abbastanza convenzionale, il cibo discreto anche se non esaltante. I prezzi non sono decisamente quelli a cui si è abituati in Ticino, Un espresso 4.50, una entrecote 43.--
