Victoria Forest Resort

Family house is indeed family house, had a wonderful stay, conducive, clean and comfortable. Has a good view of the lake, expansive green field for outdoor activities, clean water and white sand. We were served with good food served by smiling staff.

So we stayed at the resort during Easter holidays..It was good for the two days Easter and Easter Monday..After that we would have left but had already paid. -It was dirty with roaches. -The receptionist and the waiter boyfriend kept fighting and we could hear them. -The pool was not cleaned and it was all green -The mosquito nets had holes that could let a mouse in -And to top things off the girl Sylvia asked my husband for his number. And told him how she likes white men and wants to have white kids. -She ended up getting the number from the form we filled in and she keeps sending him WhatsApp messages..She gets blocked and here she comes again. -It’s like the place is run by unqualified family members who couldn’t be bothered to do their jobs.

Breezed through here a couple of times with friends. Didn’t stay but had a good coffee. Friendly staff fair service. Amenities look fair. Lovely frontage to the lake. Nice fireplace. Lovely open garden facing the lake. Lots of space for fun. Lovely bird life

Comfortable Bed, Good Standard of Food but, and it's a big but; The room was dirty, the shower enclosure did not shut, the bathroom door did not close and had considerable spider or other insect droppings by the rusty fitments. The washbasin was in the bedroom, had a large hole in the ceiling where the light presumably should have been, there was one glass rather than two, but it was full of dead fly's which was the same on the windowsill above. There was no bedside cabinet or anywhere to place items by the bedside. The first evening meal took 90 minutes to be served and the drinks did not arrive until after the food. Lunch ordered the following day (rolexes and a sandwich) took an hour, as did the drinks. We took the opportunity to order our evening meal, part of which arrived 30 minutes later than ordered with the remainder 'due to a mix-up with another order' an hour later. We know that this is Africa. We have stayed in many other hotels (including this one 5 years ago) and have allowed for different standards. Would we come back to this hotel or recommend that you do - not likely!

Went to the resort for Easter this year with the family and the long and short of it is the good are just as the bad. The place looks great, nice views to and from the resort. Great for relaxing by the beach too. Upon check in, the rooms were dirty (dirty floors and dusty furniture which was unfortunate). This was only dealt with after we left the room key by the reception the next morning requesting a room clean. Also, there are quite a few bugs and mosquitoes. While they do provided nets in the rooms, our nets had holes and we left the trip with several insect bites. The resort does offer several activities; a small pool and sauna complimentary for stay guests. They do need more towels and robes/gowns for those using the pool and the sauna since these were not enough for the Easter crowd. The food was okay. Each buffet meal came with a soup starter, salads, fruits and desserts along with the main course.. .well, almost every meal. The Easter Sunday dinner, while it was different from the other days (a barbecue dinner), did not provide any vegetables, salads or fruits yet with have to part with 60,000ugsh for this meal! As for the service, we did encounter very kind and helpful staff as well as some very rude staff so …. Key to note, there are no kettles or fridges in the rooms so plan accordingly. Also, I wouldn’t recommend booking the cottages, they were just too tiny.

Service was top notch. The people who work there from the receptionist and wait staff to the manager make sure that your experience is comfortable and memorable. I loved my stay there and will go back
