Hotel Aleksandar

1. We checked in on Thursday 27th June 2024. The lady at the Reception flatly told us we were not booked in. We showed her booking reference and again she responded we were not booked. Her Line Manager advised her we were booked and asked to check again. Again, she came back negative. Finally, her line Manager had to check himself and confirmed we were booked in. She did the registration formalities and handed our Access Card to our Room which was now allocated to be on 3rd floor 2. We took our large Suitcases and walked over to find lifts but there were none. Ofcourse, we couldn’t take 2 x Suitcases and backpacks up the stairs to 3rd floor and wondered why we weren’t advised that there were no lifts? 3. We returned to Reception to seek assistance This time, same Receptionist asked for Porters to help us carry Bags. Why she didnt advise first time, we could not understand ! It is standard practice globally to provide porters to carry Guest’s bags upto their Rooms. It is unacceptable not to provide this basic service. 4. When the porter took our bags to the room, we found we were allocated wrong room or short changed, in that our booking firmly stated “Large Double Room with Balcony”, yet there was no Balcony. Besides the room was half as small as the one we paid for ! 5. We Returned to the Reception and had this sorted with her Line Manager who corrected her mistake and kindly allocated the right room with Balcony and again, Porters carried our bags to Room 2568 in Lavanda Villa. 6. We asked for trip excursions if any in Budva region and same Receptionist flatly told us there were none and that we had to go to bus stand / town center and enquire there. We went to Budva Town center and found Tourism Office on our own and booked excursion for following day from a nearby Travel agent. However, we were not provided this info by the Receptionist. We also explored the Aleksandar Hotel complex same evening and found there was another travel agent within the precincts with whom we booked another excursion for the following days. 7. Never seen such levels of incompetence from same person as that Receptionist at Hotel Aleksandar. Line Manger please take note !!l I must stress here that other members of Hotel Aleksandar including her colleagues at Reception, her Line Manager and the Porters were very helpful, cooperative and kind to us. Only this one particular lady whose name I cannot recall. Our booking was for Room 2568 in Lavanda Villa from Thursday 27th June and checked out on 1st July 2024 at 09:00am. But otherwise the hotel Room was clean. Note there is no Kettle in Room and air con doesn’t circulate air in entire room. Outside the ambience is very nice and Beach is quite buzzing with Bars, Music, restaurants, live bands, great atmosphere

Stayed 2 weeks, Room modernised with safe (free) &old fridge no ice box,but pillows foam, washed and therefore all lumpy. Asked for 2 additional and they were the same. Duvet cover does not fit duvet its too small. Cleaners empty bins, change towels,add loo rolls daily, but need to ask for bedding be changed. Following a thunderstorm and heavy rain of which leaked through their rotten timbers of the over hang outdoor roof, it was not good on out door balcony.Had to borrow floor sweeper and clean off ourselves as cleaners don't seem to do floors. No bathroom clean either. Food in restaurant was cooked good,varied and plentiful so praise the the chief and kitchen cooks. Table cloths old and stained on many tables. No waiter for drinks if half board, have to ask one of staff, if you can get one. 2 pool areas. One courtyard- cleaned with pool cleaner once at 5.30 am the whole time we were there.Not clean with leaves, broken tiles in. Staff shout/argue at each other early morning 6 am in courtyard so echos all into rooms around.(no holiday lie in here) One pool all modernised and lovely but shared with another hotel. Bar staff lazy, on phones and ignore potential customers. Music there in evenings till 12pm (so no room doors left open if you need peace/sleep) Stairways after rain not cleared just slip sign put up. 15 mins from old Budva town.20 mins from Becci beach, so location ok, though with nightclubs gearing up nearby on front, will be noisy in evenings in season. Budva beach mostlly pebbles & sky rise hotels going up everywhere. Hotel needs a lot of cleaning and painting and maintaining all around. Went with Tui and reception lady, on own most of days so not overly happy lady tries not to help if she can avoid. As you can prob tell.. not in our opinion, recommended for a week/fortnight holiday stay. Look for other areas in Montenegro.

Arrived at 11.40 had to pay 30 euros just to get in to car park we also had to prove our booking at the car park. Arrived in reception greeted by reception manger as receptionist day off what a miserable man no smile no welcome just told abruptly check in at 12. We waited outside 20mins went back again no smile just asked for passports. Given room key on arrival in room clean but tiny had a large balcony fridge not cold WiFi did not work despite attendance of staff who didn't know how to do it.. returned to reception for passports no-one present six passports including ours just left on the dek in easy reach for anybody. Because of fridge i Asked for ice in bar i was greeted by a women who was as miserable looking as you can get but i got a small.platic glass of ice. Breakfast poor quality pool huge loads of space drink reasonable price. Barman at pool most friendly on site ,

The hotel is clean. Service is normal, nothing special but if you ask, they will answer and be polite. As we arrived at first night we were given the wrong room because the hotel was full and they did’nt have room with balkony for us, as we had paid for. Next day we asked for it and were moved to new room. If writing this review at this point, I would rate the hotel higher but… two days of good vacation and then we got problem again. As they moved us to half of family room, that has direct door to other room and to the other room moved in family with little kids- our possilbilty to sleep at nights was over. The door between two rooms is not keeping any noise and we could here every word but also the little one crying at nights. So I was like young mom again and could stay awake the rest of nights until leaving. Positive about it- I started missing my home with no baby crying in the evening and nights. Negative, that vacation was for me important and I was very sad about not to get to sleep. Baby crying and screaming is something, that I did’nt want to hear at nights in my room. So in the future I will see, that rhe room is separated and not half of family room with narrow door that keeps no noise at all. I personally think, the hotel was overbooked. Otherwise everything good, nice view and clean rooms. Just be ready to fight for your rights if needed.

Hotel is good. We are here second time. This time we meet Senka, animation girl. She’s so sweet and kind. This year they have program for kids. It’s very interested. Kids love Senka and her program. You always can see smile at her face. Also food is very good and they have so many different food and drinks.

This time we are here, at Hotel Aleksandar. It's all good, but we love the animation the most. Senka is a girl from the animation team. She loves children and has an amazing program for them. She is so kind and we love activities with her. Every time we go to a restaurant, she welcomes us with a smile and our day starts better. Big greetings to her and we hope to see her next season as well.

We are here first time. Hotel is amazing! Lots activities for kids! There is kids pool and playground. They have amazing Animation team. Girl Senka was really nice and patient when playing with kids, my daughter loved her!

All the rooms have balconies, we looked out on to a lovely courtyard with seating under a shaded pergola. Beds are comfortable, very good shower with soap dispenser and rooms cleaned everyday, the young lady was brilliant.(sorry forgot your name). Food was very good, good choice for breakfast, dinner had a different selection of meats and fresh fish every night. Melissa was a star nothing was a problem very attentive if I needed something that had not been top up Melissa was brilliant., After 5 nights we decided to eat out, we picked two different restaurants on the promenade these were very good. The All Inclusive was self service on the spirits and soft drinks and bar service for the beer, no lemons for the G&T so every night took some from the restaurant. The lady Lavodka ( sorry bad spelling) was brilliant, very attentive and helpful. The pools are big, with salty water, not crowded at all and plenty of sunbeds, which was nice. The decking around the pool edge gets very hot, you need to wear your flip-flops. Location of the hotel is good. Easy walk to the beach and old town. Lots of disco bars getting ready to open. The beaches were very busy. We took a boat trip around the bay for about one hour 40euro each. Very good the skipper was very knowledgeable about the area and the history of Montenegro.

Everything was great: the food, stuff, animation for adults. Especially we were satisfied with our animation girl Simona who was great with her animation games and during our holiday she made my daughter happy.
