Toppesfield House B&B

One of the best b&b’s you will stay in , this was our 3rd stay and we had 6 lovely days here , unfortunately I had to be rushed to hospital after collapsing at a pub due to an ongoing hernia problem , Paul went out of his way to get to me after my wife called Karen , he got me to their medical centre and I was taken to hospital via ambulance, later in the evening Paul made a 100 mile round trip to come and collect us . I am very grateful to Paul and Karen and we consider them both to be friends for life .

Our second visit to Toppesfield to enjoy the wonderful home and hospitality of Karen & Paul. We had a thoroughly enjoyable 5 days in a property which is close to Bude and many popular beaches. We stayed in bedroom 1 which was a large bedroom with shower and it's own outside area. The bed was very comfortable and the room was kept spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were lovely. Freshly prepared fruit salad was an excellent starter to be followed by either full English or Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Delicious. The breakfasts set us up for the day. Both Karen & Paul were able to offer hints and tips about where to go. It really was a lovely break and we shall return next time we are in the area - hopefully next year. Thank you, Karen & Paul

We have just arrived today and we already love it here! What a gem! We are so happy we have found this wonderful place. The rooms are gorgeous, modern and absolutely spotless. So comfortable and the attention to detail is fantastic. Lots of little touches and amenities that make your stay even better and are greatly appreciated when you are travelling. The property is beautifully landscaped and you can sit outside and enjoy the tranquility. The hosts are so friendly, welcoming and very helpful. This is a perfect base to explore North Cornwall.

This has to be the most comfortable b&b we have ever stayed in. We have stayed here a few times and can honestly say the welcome is so warm and friendly. The rooms are spacious and airy with your own outdoor seating area. Toppesfield House is a bungalow so all is on one level which is great. Bathroom is spacious and we love the rain head shower, just envious about the water pressure, wish ours was like this at home! The breakfast choices are really good with a range of juices, yogurts and cereals, fresh fruit salad and a wide choice of hot food. Location is great for heading to Bude or further north, and for heading south maybe to Padstow/Tintagel or Boscastle. Karen and Paul are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble. They have great suggestions for places to visit or for dinner. We can highly recommend staying here, just give me 5 mins to make my booking first!

We had the most wonderful 5 night stay at this beautiful B and B. Karen and Paul were great hosts and were never too busy to chat and advice on places to visit and eat. The room (3) was beautifully presented, and included many little extra to make your stay more welcoming - like the Tea/Coffee making equipment (including a Nespresso machine) and a couple of Quality Street each day. Slippers/dressing gowns were also provided. The en-suite bathroom was spacious and included toiletries. There was also a great, covered outdoor space to chill. Lots of choices for breakfast, fruit, yogurt, kippers, salmon and eggs along with the Full English, of course. An Honesty bar was also provided with prices very reasonable. We highly recommend this lovely accommodation. We will definitely return when we are visiting the area again. Thank you Karen and Paul for sharing your lovely home.

The beds are very comfortable, the rooms beautifully designed and the bathroom very modern. We enjoyed the own patio which is a nice add on. The breakfast is very delicious and even if one is not a huge fan of English breakfast - it’s a very good one!

Large and clean rooms, with very comfortable beds, fridge, smart TV etc. and even a veranda so you can sit outside if you want. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Hospitality with a capital H! Located only a few miles from the beach at Widemouth Bay and the town of Bude. Many other places worth visiting within driving distance. Large choice of very good breakfasts. We stayed here with our two 20 year old sons, and had a great time!

Karen und Paul waren hervorragende Gastgeber ! Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer, ein sehr gutes Frühstück, vor allem waren wir dankbar für Karens Tipps für Sehenswertes und Schmackhaftes. Highlights waren die Küstenwanderungen nach Sandy Mouse, der Besuch von Tintagel und ein Abendessen in Port William draussen am Meer !
