East City Budapest

This hotel is an absolute disaster. Although I travel frequently across Europe and stay in simpler or older hotels, I have never encountered anything as filthy as this. Cleanliness should be a basic standard, but here it was completely neglected. The room I received had not been cleaned after the previous guests. The fridge was moldy, the toilet was dirty, and there weren’t even clean towels! The water in the bathroom was dirty and unusable – not even suitable for washing or brushing my teeth! At the reception, the staff was trying to deal with numerous angry guests who were facing the same issue – dirty and unprepared rooms. When I asked for fresh bed sheets, I was given a pile of wrinkled and already dirty sheets! This was downright disgusting and unacceptable. I strongly urge the hotel management to shut down this mess immediately and stop deceiving guests who come to the wonderful city of Budapest expecting at least basic hygiene. To anyone considering this hotel – pick somewhere else. This city deserves better experiences!

The pictures on this site of the Hotel must be very old. It feels as if its closing down and has Zombie like feeling. Do not go by the stock photos, they are very misleading. There is no - AC, it's there but does not work, you can beg for a fan. There is no - Housekeeping, they may come around in 2/3 days and only empty the bin. Your room will get in desperate need of a clean. There is no - Restaurant or bar, all closed and in darkness, so no breakfast etc No Hygiene - The toilet was dirty and the fridge had various sticky substances all over it. Also they plugged it in so it would turn off when you left the room. However, there is a plug behind wired to stay on all the time, try to find that. Don't walk on the carpet in bare feet. Your towels are handed to you at reception. And never changed. I did have toilet paper. Staff look like and dress like some random people of the street who really are not interested. Good location for transport and it's cheap. Best of luck

Never had this kind of bad experience before nowhere. People smoking in the room ( smell terrible ) No towels No heating Dirty Mouldy Rude receptionist definitely not health and safety.. probably worse than homeless shelter wouldn’t recommend it

The only things in their favor are the closeness to subway lines number 2 and 4, being within walkable distance from important city spots, and the bed being fluffy and comfortable to sleep in. Besides that, I thought the experience was awful. I can't believe they are a three-star hotel. The areas were permanently disgusting looking. The elevator (as you can see in one of the few pics I took) was full of hair daily. In fact, that big fluff of dust and hair grew more every day. In the room, there were horrible stains on the carpets, and a bunch of trash hidden behind the table (hair ties, dust, torn paper, and God knows what else). On top of this, the tub had many stains, the TV wouldn't work nor the mini-fridge. No one cleaned the rooms, took the trash, or brought new towels. On another note, I found the staff to be pretty rude when talking to the customers. They usually had an unfriendly face even when we would only say hello or goodbye. As soon as we got there they were trying to make us pay 177 euros when everything was already paid. Then the man said we could sleep that night but that we had to prove we had paid in the morning. Fortunately, our company was able to talk to the hotel, but the man also appeared to have completely forgotten the subject when we mentioned it to him. Also, we most certainly had breakfast included but they said we didn't and at that point, I couldn't care less so I dropped the subject and we ended up eating in the Spar right beside the hotel.

I have never step foot In a more disgusting place. 4 room changes was needed before we eventually said give us a refund and we were then stuck without a hotel. The first room had blood stained towels and bed sheets with holes in them all along side cigarettes in the room. The second room we had the door didn’t even work and was told it was my own fault even though the handle was falling off and the batteries were hanging out. The third room we had it was dirty and hadn’t even been cleaned and the fourth room had holes in the bed sheets and tobacco everywhere. The walls are all stained and the carpets are stained. There is nothing positive to state about this hotel. The staff didn’t seem to care about the hotel which was rather humorous. Thankfully we got a cash refund however it still doesn’t satisfy the experience.

This was our 4th time in Budapest. They moved our reservation from Thomas hotel to Golden park. The hotel was so dirty, that was terrible. Heating was not working properly. The rooms were not clean, I've found somebody elses toenails in the bathroom on the tub, there was so much dust, the floor was not cleand in ages, somebody elses hair under the pillow, no towels, and breakfast served in the reception lobby, on a counter that had 1 cm dust, and God only knows when it was cleand laat time. Avoid it if possible.
