+Modern decor +Cheap +Short walk to the metro +Friendly staff -Not cleaned regularly. Hairs and dirt in the showers and in the rooms. -Building needs general maintenance completed, broken showers etc. -The hostel feels unsafe. There seems to be lots of long term guest rather than travellers, not very social. -Although friendly the staff aren’t present.

Our group occupied three different rooms. There were bed bugs seen in one of the rooms on the last night of our stay, and the management of the hostel was unresponsive to our concerns about this situation. The place in general is dirty. No where to relax outside due to broken furniture and/or furniture with bird droppings all over. No management person was ever seen on site during the three days we stayed there.

Bucharest was the final destination for me and my friends back packing trip through Europe and we had trouble when it came to checking in to this hostel as the host had supposedly sent us and email with the code to get in when he hadn't and gave us attitude over the phone when we said we hadn't revived the email. When we finally arrived in the reception the receptionist behind the desk had put me and my friend in separate rooms, we requested that we have a bunk bed in the same room as this is what we done in every hostel in every destination on our trip. There was room in the hostel for me and friend to stay in the same room but the receptionist refused to move my friend to the same room as me despite them having room. The attitude we received from the owner via email and the receptionist in person was enough to put us of staying in the hostel so me and my friend bailed and got a cheap hotel instead. It looked like a decent hostel but the the people who we encountered here ruined it. Following writing the review above on *********** I’ve received a ‘lovely’ text message from the owner as seen in the photos I’ve attached to this review. This shows the type of people who are running this place… Admitting calling there guests names like ‘Karen’. Very childish behaviour from people who are supposed to be running a business. I can also confirm that me and my friend arrived at 11:22am in the morning not in the evening not in the evening as the owner states. Within regards to requesting that me and my friend stay in the same room prior our arrival my friend had sent the hostel a message on 11 July at 4pm requesting that we stay in the same room despite having separate bookings (which can also be seen in another screen shot attached to this review). Me and my friend booked this place and it’s a good option for a cheap hostel with relative proximity to Bucharest city centre. However when my friend left his review on *********** (which of course is his opinion) he was messaged on his personal phone number by Adrian the owner who decided to call me and my friend ‘Karen’s’ for wanting to stay in the same room. Amongst other quite rude comments made to my friend! On the 11th July roughly 10 days prior to arriving I contacted this hostel on *********** asking if we could be co-located. In the message he sent my friend he denies ever receiving a message. He also said that we arrived during the evening time when everyone else had already checked in, I checked my call log to see what time I had to ring the hostel to get into the building which clocked in at 11:22, not evening time at all. The man who appeared to be working the front desk was rude on both the phone and in person. When I called him the first time he told me he had sent me a code and room number. He hasn’t, I then called again and was rudely told that I had received them when I clearly hadn’t. In fact, I actually didn’t receive my message until the 26th, 3 days after my stay was supposed to finish! Me and my friend decided against staying here and checked into a nearby hotel for a reasonable cost. I’m sure this hostel offers plenty and most may have an issue free stay but I wouldn’t personally recommend staying here and look forward to seeing what sarcastic reply I receive from Adrian the owner. I will leave a few positives I noticed while there as it would be unfair to list only negatives. - Air conditioning was working. - Low cost. - Not far from city centre at all.

Cold showers, broken towel warmers (I checked multiple bathrooms), overflowing trash cans, no toilet paper or soap refills. The trash can in my dorm room and bathroom were never changed during my stay. The floors were never cleaned and the toilet paper was never refilled either. The housekeeper took things from my bed and never returned them all, just one. It’s impossible to tell if a bed has been cleaned and beds are not assigned. It’s a free for all. This property needs a reception area.

Very clean hostel with comfortable rooms and beds; there is a nice well equipped kitchen and several bathrooms, all kept very clean. The building was kept warm throughout by the heating. Great location close to the centre. It was a pleasure to stay here. I would happily come back.

Buon ostello e pulito. La struttura è gestita da remoto, potrete fare il check in direttamente on line, poi il proprietario da' le istruzioni e i codici di accesso, il tutto un po' impersonale ma ben organizzato. I letti sono comodi, ci sono diversi bagni, la struttura è piuttosto centrale in zona tranquilla. L'ingresso dell'ostello è difficile da trovare, così come l'uscita, la struttura all'interno è abbastanza claustrofobica, piccoli corridoi e scale, qualche area comune.

Allettati dal basso costo abbiamo prenotato per due notte durante una gita io e un mio amico. All’arrivo durante il check-in non si accorgono di averci assegnato un solo letto al posto di due. Al rientro al dormitorio verso l’una di notte entrando nella stanza da 8 letti li troviamo tutti occupati. Ovviamente proviamo a contattare in tutti i modi ripetutamente la reception che ha il telefono staccato. Morale della favola abbiamo pagato per dormire sul divano. Menomale ci adattiamo a tutto ma esperienza da dimenticare. Peccato perché il contesto non è male!
