Canalview Hotel Ter Reien

No cold or hot water can drink, I don’t like drink water in bathroom. I know need to pay 6 euros city tax but I pax 15 euros in fact.

The location was incredible! Very close to everything in the city center. If you’re wondering if you should spend extra on the canal view… DO IT! It’s so nice to sit in the window and gaze out

飯店位置臨近河岸，門前就有布魯日的免費接駁巴士停靠站，位居市政府及著名布魯日鐘塔附近，周邊環境很安靜！ 飯店採自助式check-in, 房價包含早餐！ 房間不大，加厚的床墊十分舒服，但浴室空間狹小是缺點！

Avoid. That's the only word I would have for this hotel. It is like a few rich kids getting together to start something. which they don't really care about. It is a half baked, half hearted attempt at running a 'hotel'. If I wish no service, I would rather stay in an apartment. This is a self check-in hotel. Which is fine, if the people behind it are professional. When I reached the doors, as I tried to figure my way in, I could see one of the employees at the desk, 10 feet away. He saw us and just left when he could have just helped us in. Next, the key was supposed to be in a box. All the box had was a letter telling me that this is a self-check-in hotel. The key was not there and there was nobody to help... until a young lady came out fuming at me for trying to check the keys lying at the reception table - I was frantically trying to find a key as my 8-year old needed to pee. And this girl comes out, not offering help or getting the key but just telling me off that I had no right to check the reception. She just ignored the fact that her team was did not keep the key in the promised box in first place. Entitled to the core. The rest - The location is right at the canal, but there is no view really. You can walk to the town center, which is good, The breakfast is BLAH. The funniest - they did not even keep any toiletries, except one small bar of soap. Nothing for the insane amount of money they charge. If you wish to get another soap, you pay 5 euros. At some point, I joked that we might have to pay them 5 euros if we breathed more than allowed. Not worth.

First, the good: the hotel was safe, and in a good location for walking to Bruges sites. It was clean. It was modern. It offered breakfast included, but I did not eat anything there. You could check in independently after hours. Now the bad: I think any hotel that charges more than €100 per night should provide a tiny bit of shampoo and conditioner and a hairdryer. They did none of the above. I had to wash my hair the first morning with the tiny bar of soap provided. When I asked for a hairdryer, I was told it would be five euros per day. I went to a make up store that day and told them about it. I was perfectly willing to buy some shampoo, but they gave me samples and said they were ashamed that a hotel in their community wouldn’t provide Shampoo. The room is hot and stuffy if it’s 70 degrees Fahrenheit outside. I had to pull the duvet out of its cover and just use the cover to keep from roasting. When you leave the window open, you get mosquitoes that come in. In fact, there are little vents in the windows, and I think mosquitoes can even come in those vents when the windows are closed. I had to kill three mosquitoes in my room in two nights. Two of them had blood in them, which meant they had dined on me. This may be a European trend, but it is the first I have experienced it: the toilet and the shower are in one room separate from the sink. When you turn on the shower, the water sprays all over the entire room. It’s kind of amazing that the toilet paper doesn’t get soaked. When you are finished showering, you have to use one or two of your towels to dry the floor around the toilet. I only dealt with one staff member, and she was kind and helpful (except for charging me the five euros for the hairdryer). This could be a good hotel if they would prioritize guests in a more considerate manner, knowing that the airlines have recently cracked down on the size of liquid bottles allowed. Guests have to really limit what they bring. Please, some shampoo!

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting, with lovely views of the canal . Great location quiet but only a short walk to the main square. Charles in the reception was always very helpful. Breakfast is good. We didn’t have a canal view but overlooked the very pleasant courtyard. Room was small but quite adequate.. very clean and always fresh towels supplied when needed. WiFi wasn’t good in the room but was easily accessible in the courtyard & reception. The only downside was it was quite hot 🥵 when we visited & the ability to hire a fan would have been great.
