Beacon House B&B Brixham

Well, what can I say, from the moment we phoned up and made an enquiry to the moment of leaving we felt that we had known Herve & Nathalie for years, you cannot get more hospitable hosts. We stayed in the harbour view room, and it was perfect, comfortable mattress and bedding, lovely views from the balcony. Then we come to the breakfast, again words fail me, absolutely delicious, try the Franglais full breakfast, a new twist on a full English. Looking forward to future visits, thank you Herve and Nathalie.

Hervè and Natalie are wonderfully delightful people and the best B&B hosts we've stayed with during our travels. I'm a foodie and was THORUGLY impressed as always with the full "Franglish" (french and English) breakfast in addition to beautiful, classic French pastries, well-rounded tea and an endless wealth of knowledge and (invited) conversation about the area. In addition to the food, the room we stayed in was well stocked with towels, soft linens and very comfortable beds (perfect after a night exploring the town), along with spectacular views from our included private balcony (!!)

We received a very warm welcome from Nathalie who presented us each with a glass of chilled Devon cider, which was much appreciated. Our en-suite rooms, both with wonderful views of the harbour, a small balcony, big enough to accommodate table and chairs, were very comfortable indeed - in fact we are now considering buying the same brand of bed mattress. What really sets this delightful B&B apart, is not just the location with its panoramic vista, available parking, also, the delicious choice of breakfast dishes ie porridge with orange compote and elderflower syrup topped with a strawberry; ambrosial. The history of the house and its once importance to the fishing industry is very interesting too. Would we stay at Beacon House again - yes. Thank you to our delightful hosts Hervé and Nathalie.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay in Brixham at Beacon house. The breakfasts are amazing ! There is no better place to stay if you want a warm welcome, comfy beds and good food. And the sun was shining ! I will definitely be back. Thank you both. Valerie

I stayed in the Bay View room. View is spectacular, the room is well decorated and very comfy. Hervé and Nathalie are lovely hosts, always happy to chat. Their breakfasts are well presented, very tasty and a great start to the day. I've added their details to my list of preferred B&Bs and will certainly visit again. Thank you both.

If you are looking to book something in Brixham, stop and book this room if you possibly can. Hervé and Nathalie are the perfect hosts, and you should take the chance to visit what is an incredibly rare bit of true hospitality while you still can. Hervé has run a London restaurant for the past 25 years and now owns and personally operates this b&b with his wife, and has built the entire thing around his good taste and very, very good cooking. The rooms are small but perfect: a little espresso maker, beautiful French porcelain cups, a balcony with the best view in town, a little freshly paved car park to leave your car in for the entire stay, an incredibly good shower, every detail is high-quality in that way that makes you feel cared for without being flashy for no reason. Breakfast is world class. Literally the best hollandaise I have ever had, fresh grapefruit juice, perfect porridge, and the kind of welcome you can only get from someone with a literal lifetime of professional hospitality. The most important thing to know is that he does this because he loves to do it, and that shows in every detail. They're not open all year because they like to travel and live well: if you like the same, book this room, and book it now.

Our first visit to this b n b and it won’t be the last superb experience and even better views across the harbour and marina . Herve and Natalie ensure your stay at Beacon House is a holiday to remember with the eggs Benedict being a truly amazing start to the day, Having stayed in various places in Torbay over the last 55 years this was possibly the most enjoyable and not just the view from the large balcony and table/chairs but cleanliness and a great shower, plus the thick fluffy towels enhance the stay. There is parking on site for each room which in Brixham is essential . Herve is a mind of information on all the restaurants in the town and where to visit during your stay. We will be back before we know it…

We’ve just arrived back from an incredible time at Beacon House B & B….we had a 4 night stay my husband and I stayed in the Beacon room while my mum stayed in the Harbour view room…both rooms having balconies we had just incredible views overlooking the harbour and sea…such a beautiful views to wake up to! With having a bereavement recently we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay..Herve and Nathalie were the home from home place we needed for a sanctuary of calm and being incredibly looked after..they really go above and beyond to give a wonderful stay…oh my the beds and the sheets are everything you could wish for…I’ve come home and ordered the same mattress..from someone who doesn’t sleep very well to not wanting to get out of bed after a full nights sleep is just unheard of! And the breakfast is just wow! I’ve never had a a 3 course breakfast before…what a start to the day! And so much choice! Cooked and presented impeccably..personal favourites were the porridge with a pineapple and orange compote and lime syrup and the yoghurt with a poached pear nuts and seeds just wow! Also the eggs Benedict, scrambled egg with anything added to them and crispy bacon!! And lots of Yorkshire tea! My husband loved his ‘Franglish’ breakfast! And the porridge! You really didn’t need anything for the rest of the day! We really couldn’t recommend Beacon House enough it’s been our little bit of heaven on earth! Herve and Nathalie are diamonds and so very kind…I feel like we left our when we came home we really didn’t want to leave and certainly will be going back!

We have just returned from a two night stay at Beacon House. This has to be one of the best accommodation’s we have stayed in whilst holidaying in the UK. The hosts Hervé & Nathalie are so warm and welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help us enjoy our stay. We stayed in the Bayview room, the view of the bay really was incredible. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with a French twist! We can’t wait to return. Beautiful boutique B&B you will not be disappointed!
