Southern Palms Beach Club

I highly recommend Southern Palms. We had a holiday of a lifetime it was incredibly special. We booked to return May 2025 whilst still on holiday. The staff are amazing, views beautiful and happy hour cocktails amazing. Barbados will always have a very special place in our hearts, Southern Palms is our new favourite place to stay! The location on the Gap is perfect whilst being quiet. Counting down the days to return! Thank you to Kelly and her team xx

The location is very good, beach is lovely, the views incredible! The guy giving out watersports equip etc is a credit to the hotel! There was a couple of ladies serving who were also exceptionally friendly & helpful. However, several of the staff seemed rude & surly/abrupt, couldn’t work out why but they were also attentive?! A frequent response to a request to get something for us was ‘well I’d have to go and get that’ which made us reluctant to make other requests. The charges for the safe was unusual - we paid for this but thought given the cost we paid this should have been included. The receptionists were helpful but also just didn’t seem happy at all other than Jenny. Overall, the pros outweighed the cons but I think customer service training would go a mile here.

I can't say enough good things about our stay at this hotel. It was the best holiday I have had in years. The location is amazing. The room was huge, the beach is the best beach in Barbados, the grounds were immaculate, the pool was pristine clean and the staff were great. Everyone we met at the hotel had been there before several times. It is the kind of place that you return to over and over again. They had Zumba in the pool, they lend out snorkels, there was dancing to live music several nights a week and a steel drum band playing several times, all right by the pool. I can't say stay here enough!

I have returned today from 8 nights at the hotel and i would certainly return. The hotel is on Dover Beach and this is one of my favourite beaches on the island, and this is a massive selling point. The sea turtles were seen daily in the sea, and i will never get over how special this is. Additionally we were very lucky to see this year turtle hatchlings and turtles laying eggs….. hopefully you’ll be as lucky as we were. The hotel is extremely clean and i find the staff very helpful.. One thing i want to remind people is that Bajan customer service is at a different pace to that used to within the UK - this does not mean its not as good but people need to appreciate the difference in pace. This is consistent with everything on the island….. just go with it… and don’t get stressed! The food within the restaurant is excellent. We had the all day menu in the evening a few days. For breakfast i would definitely order off the menu rather than the buffet - i think its more cost effective! The muffins at 4pm are also delightful! We hope yo be back soon!

Very comfortable luxury suite with a wonderful position just a few steps from the beach. Quality of food was very good but the menu (particularly breakfast) didn’t change and there was no variety. The food served in the bar area,however, was excellent with plenty of choice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Dover beach was wonderful with plenty of sun loungers and shady places under the palm trees. We did enjoy turtle watching!

Booked this hotel as highly recommended on Tripadvisor and also via travel agency and so glad we did. Warm welcome from Jenni on reception and every member of staff made our holiday a memorable one, happy, helpful and very hardworking. Our room was perfectly positioned with a sea view and opened out straight to the pool, simply but comfortably furnished and kept very clean. We enjoyed excellent breakfasts, Suzy’s omelettes were always a treat….had a couple of meals in the evening which were good but we tended to go out otherwise. Entertainment by the steel band was superb. David in the sports facilities room was very friendly and helpful with lending out boogie boards. The hotel has a very warm and friendly atmosphere and we enjoyed the company of the other clientele, many of whom had holidayed there for years. We also hope to return.

This was a great hotel for the price! Staff are extremely friendly especially Rushaune, he’s your go to guy and super friendly, David bell at the water activities is gem as well! Loved this place. Strategically located and has a great beach!! Jenny was super friendly and helpful as well at the front desk.

We are now back home after having chosen this fantastic venue for our wedding last week. It was organised superbly by the lovely Jenni, who was more than happy to deal with our constant and sometimes daft email questions during the build-up to our wonderful event.😂 All the staff have been fantastic but as well as Jenni we would like to give a big shout out to the ladies that looked after us at our reception as we all wanted for nothing that evening. I have been to this beautiful part of this island many many times before but it's my first time in this wonderful hotel and its lovely grounds and fab location and it absolutely won't be my last. So it was with much regret and a tear in my eye that we had to leave this lovely place 😢. But the great news is that were are already booked in for our 1st Anniversary celebrations next year. ARRIVAL: On arrival we we're checked in straight away with no issues. The lady on the desk was friendly. A lovely gentleman took our luggage to the bedroom and even showed us where things were. ROOMS: Spacious and spotlessly cleaned daily. We opted for a sea view and glad we did. We we're right outside the smaller pool which was great because you can wake up and take a dip before your day begins. STAFF I can honestly say the staff here are amazing. Always smiling and happy. They all work very hard to make your stay a pleasant one. BEACH: The beach had a lot of seaweed washed up most days but my daughter was still happy to take a dip and it didnt bother me because a prefer the pool to swin in amyway. The beach is clean other than that. Lots of sunloungers and a beach towel you can change daily. Lots of activities you can get involved in or you can just lay back and enjoy the sun, be careful though because you have a lovely sea breeze so don't underestimate the sun because you'll burn. HOTEL: It is a quiet hotel but plenty to do outside of it. You are invited to rum punch and fish cakes with the hotel manager. Which was lovely. Mind the rum punch it's stronger than it tastes. Gardens are lovely and well maintained. It has two pools that are checked and cleaned daily. Sunlounger and chairs are also there for you to use. Tea and cake are served mid afternoon around the pool. Happy hour with cocktails from 6pm until 7pm. Which I enjoyed lol. We stayed room only but did have the occasional meal at the hotel. Breakfast was really nice and evening meal was lovely. Wasn't to bad on price really. We also had the odd snack around the pool. EXCURSIONS: We only went on a couple this time round, snorkeling with the turtle was amazing and would probably do again on my return. Harbour lights is a must if you come here. It was a great night from start to finish. Both are worth the money. All in all we have had a great stay. We are booking again next year.
