Cannot fault the hospitality of this B&B. A very warm welcome from the owner who showed us to our room (the same one we stayed in previously). The room was very spacious with a large en-suite bathroom with some shower gels, shampoos, make up wipes & even some cotton wool balls. I found the bed was a little uncomfortable but that is only a personal opinion (never the same as your own bed). Wi-Fi passwords are located in the visitors book & a large screen TV in room. There are also tea & coffee making facilities available & a hairdryer. The use of the dryer is a little difficult as the mirror is not near the socket where you have to plug it in. This could be easily remedied by moving the mirror across a little. The breakfast was ok, not necessarily very hot but the request for well done eggs & sausages were happily fulfilled & toast replenished upon request too. Plenty of cereals, porridge & yoghurts were available. There are however some negatives. Unfortunately from a cleaning perspective! I made the fatal mistake of lifting the shower trap to remove my hair after washing it as I don’t like other people having to do this. This was a major error as it looked like this hadn’t been done in I don’t know how long! There is quite a bit of clutter (piled up toys) in the corner of the dining room & the dining room was a little cold due to the single glazing.

Fantastic value for money for such an outstanding stay! Excellent location. A lovely “old world” guest house in an historical building! The owners David and Mandy welcomed us to their incredible establishment. Our room was spotlessly clean and spacious with a beautiful en-suite bathroom and an extremely comfortable bed. On-site parking very safe. David’s breakfast has won our award for the best breakfast we have been served so far in Wales. Definitely worth the visit and highly recommended.

A friend and I stayed for the bank holiday for 3 nights.. What a lovely stay with Amy and the family . They really could not do enough for you . The Guest house was full but we never felt neglected . Very handy having on site parking . Breakfast was good and accommodation spotless . Walking distance to town . I would recommend .

Guest House is located on the road from Merthyr to Brecon and is about 3/4 mile from the town centre, An easy 20 min walk takes you past a) nice fish & chip shop b) an ice cream parlour. Free Car parking is available on the street but also behind the hotel by driving around the back streets. Our room was up two flights of stairs and in a pleasant attic conversion. Ensuite washing room, WC and shower. The room had twin beds, (our opinion of the beds was mixed). In the dining room, Breakfast was served quickly and was very good. Many types of cereal and yogurts were also available.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. It was in a great location for walking. We did drive to Pen y fan although you don't need to as there are trails from the house. Very close to town. Cycle storage included. Breakfast very good and generous portions.

Booked this for a one night stay with the family. Extremely pleased with every aspect of the stay. Stayed in a family room which was very clean, plenty of room and a fantastic large bathroom. Had a choice of breakfast, very good quality - no skinny bacon here. Would definately recommend and if travel that way again would not hesitate in re-booking.

Absolutely amazing place to stay, if you ever are in brecon you have to stay here, the owners are absolutely lovely and the service we received was phenomenal i have never been treated so well during a stay. They have a garden, breakfast area, spacious rooms, amazing owners, and the place was spotless. I can't recommend this place enough to anyone staying in brecon it is also close to town which was very handy for us. We stayed in a family room, which was spacious and spotless. we also had some complimentary shower gel, a bar of soap, and a shampoo and conditioner, which was left in our room ready for us to arrive, we got escorted to our room and asked about a time we would like to go for breakfast. We had breakfast at 8.50am there was 3 or 4 people down there very friendly fellow customers and the 2 ladys were lovely at breakfast too, we ordered 2 welsh breakfasts which was lovely with great produce, it was very quick service and the food was served shortly after. Definitely less than 5 minutes. Thankyou so much old castle farm house for being amazing, we will definitely be back ♥️

I stayed for 5 nights at the Old Castle Farm on a motorbike touring holiday. Dave and Mandy were very welcoming and I felt I was a guest in their home which was really nice. Their guest house is a 10 minute walk into the centre of town and there was off-street parking for my bike in a secluded area which was great from a security point of view. My room was large, warm and well appointed with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was also large with a reasonable shower. Breakfast choice was very good and the food delicious. The wifi and TV worked fine. All in all, a very comfortable stay. Thanks!

Spent a month here whilst away for placement, Mandy and david have been nothing but incredible since I arrived, nothing has been too much trouble and they are always on hand when needed and polite also. Breakfast in the morning is freshly cooked and great portions, also no waiting around so nice and quick service. Throughout my time there I was in a few different rooms and each one of them were very cosy and comfortable, own bathroom with shower. Would highly recommend and would definitely return, thankyou for your fantastic hospitality!
